Driving fom Indy and need suggestions on a beach location

We're driving from Indy to WDW and need help with finding a nice beach area to visit out last two days, before we head home. I'd like something closer to home rather than extending our drive home. We like quiet places. We lived Anna Maria island, but we need something closer to Indiana. Thanks!

I don't know of any beaches on the way from WDW and Indiana, close to IN, unless you will pass a lake somewhere.

The Destin, FL area is the best you're going to get, but it's stiil going to be about 12 hours from home.

I like Fort Walton, Fl. It's just across the bay from Destin, but much, much less crowded.
