We are driving to WDW & I am looking for a place that sells new childrens videos cheap. I have already checked valuebin.com, & no success. These do not have to be Disney movies, spiderman & scooby-doo, power puff, etc...

Anyone know a good place whose shipping isn't outragous?

Thanks!

Have you tried www.overstock.com? At Xmas time I bought a bunch of vhs tapes for under $5 each. They are not Spiderman, but they had a bunch of Pokemon, Rudolf and other movies really cheap.

I just brought the site up. They have Mulan(disney) for 7.99, gundam wing for .99, Rudolf for 2.99, beauty and the beast (disney) for 9.99, chitty chitty bang bang for 4.99 and hundred others. We've never had a problem with they tapes, either. Their shipping is only 2.98 for any order. I really like this place! HTH

(Now, I'm off to check out their deals. DH is going to kill me. LOL)

Funny you should ask??

I was at the B&M store here in town,Ross Dress for Less, and right up front by the check outs, they had a rack of Kids videos,DVD,and Cds all at really low prices most around $6.99. I saw the Bob the Builder videos, And Christian stories, the ends of the rack had all kinds children's selections. The Cd,s were childrens favorite songs collection of 2 or 3 cd,s for 5.99.

We have found some really cool Dvd's and Cd's at Ross!!

you might try foxstore.com I know at Christmas they had specials that made the tapes really cheap. If you are a member of mypoints go through there to get the points. Also if you want pre-viewed tapes, blockbuster usually has a special that makes them really cheap. They are guar. for 30 days, but we buy them all the time and have never had a problem.

If you have Toon Disney or other kids stations you might try making some of your own.

I've done this with Toon Disney, Cartoon Channel & Nick and the kids often picked them over regular movies. I was also able to put 6 hours on a tape so didn't have to hunt another one as often.

We make our own, too, and the advantage I find is that as long as the video plays they are settled. They only seem to get restless when the video quits. So we put about 3 hours on each and then we know it is time to find a rest area! A 30 minute bathroom and leg-stretch break and it's back on the road again!!

I love road trips!!!

Try Wal*Mart. I find all sorts of inexpensive DVDs and I have seen TONS of inexpensive movies on VHS.

www.foxstore.com is a good place to check for tapes. Here is a code for free shipping: ICEMP2 I don't know the expiration date on this code and hope it is still good. I used it a two weeks ago.

Darn, wish I saw this sooner. My sister just gave me a huge box of kids videos and I had no use for them as we either have them already or on DVD so I gave them to the Salvation Army. Bummer I would have sent them to you.

Faith, trust, and pixie dust to you!

Don't buy them! Check them out of the public library. Our library has a HUGE selection of cartoons and kids' movies. They also have a great selection of books on tape/CD.

An added bonus: Kids tend to get tired of videos quickly -- these won't clutter up your house or end up in the yard sale.

We have gotten a lot of videos from the library also, but they only allow several days for checkout. I have gotten a lot of good deals from www.valuebin.com

Our library allows 10 days, but that's still not enough for our upcoming trip. Wahoo! :bounce:

I bought one new video, made a 6 hour tape of favorite shows, and will allow dd and ds to each pick out one other tape. I hope that gets us through. Taking the autotrain down but still facing a 20+ hour drive home. :(

Wish I thought to check for garage sales this past weekend, we've picked up many videos for about $1.

I was just at Best Buy this weekend. They seem to be switching all their stock to DVDs. They had one aisle of videos. I couldn't believe the price on the videos. They were SOOO cheap. The kids ones were all under $5. Check them out.

Our library now allows 3 wks on the older ones and 7 days for newer, so you might want to check the library. I also like the idea of taping your own....and not having to change tapes or rewind as often.

My suggestion was also the library! Our return policy is 2 weeks, but you can also call and renew them before they are over due. Just jot down the number and carry it along with you. They might also make an exception if you explain you are going out of town. Also our overdue fee is only 10 cents per tape per day so even if you are a day or two over due it's still cheaper than buying. We also get books from the library for out-loud reading to everyone on the trip down and many other have gotten read a long tapes too, though my family does not care for these. One caution is to be careful with anything you take out. Replacement cost for these items is unreal. I thought it would be fun to read Tom Sawyer out loud on our last trip as DS likes T.S. island. The book was so old and falling apart but turned out to be the original edition that was hard to read and not fun at all to hear. As it turns out some where between home and WDW, we lost that book. Almost 50.00 to replace the book that was totaly worn out anyway!!!!

Another place to check on new tapes to buy is big lots. Many places have old tapes marked way down now as dv are the thing. I did notice as i bought the new Happy Potter movie last week that for the first time a new VHS was more than the DVD!!!

Good Luck.

Ours is $1 per day.

Which is exactly my concern. I once had an ... ahem ... disagreement ... with the library over a video I know I returned. They locked my account for a week! It's not worth risking that again.

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions.

The library idea is totally out for me. Our policy is very short, with no renewals for movies.

I also am sorry to say my husband & I are not very proficiant with the VCR & taping would be a pain. Especially because of those gimmie get-me commericals! Now if I had time to record & edit them out.......;)

Overstock looks good & I have abount $20.00 in paypal, which they accept, from a bunch of go-zing surveys, so that would help.

Valuebin.com was the first place I checked & they didn't have what I was looking for.

Thanks for foxstore & the free shipping code I will check them out along with the varies B&M stores mentioned.

Thanks everyone again!

Check your local BlockBuster store. Our store is liquidating quite a lot of its VHS library. You can get pre-viewed VCR tapes for about $5. There are always lots of kids movies for sale.

I got lots of Disney channel original movies (Smart House, Zenon, Tower of Terror, Johnny Tsunami, etc.) all for $5 each.

The newer ones like Monsters Inc. and Tarzan and Jane go for about $10.

They are also guaranteed, so it's really a no-risk way to build your video library.
