Hi,

Can anybody give me some details of how long it takes to drive from Orlando to Clearwater, and from Clearwater to the Keys (the Dolphin Research Center at Grassy Key)?

Hi,
it would take you 2 hours from Disney area Orlando to Clearwater, and 7 hours from Clearwater to Grassy Key Dolphine research center.
The address is 58901 Overseas Highway, Grassy Key, FL 33050-6019.
You can get a detailed printable driving direction from (mapquest.com)
have a good trip.

Blimey, 7 hours ! I'm not sure the kids will stomach that, even if it is for a swim with the dolphins.

Thanks for the advise anyway.

Hi there,
did you know you can do that in Orlando at Discovery Cove ??
Check it out online at ( discoverycove.com)
Orlando has much to offer, just name your intrest !

Yeah, I've read all of the reviews here. My problem is that I don't like the idea of keeping dolphins in captivity. From what I've read about the DRC they are free to leave at any time. Also, 2 out of the 5 of us don't swim, so the various forms of interaction seem better.

I've got the flights booked already so I'm looking at booking villas. The plan till now has been 2 weeks in Orlando and 1 on the Gulf Coast. I'll have to think about going to the Keys for a visit. Trouble is that I've got 2 daughters who'll be 7 and 11 when we take our holiday, and the general view seems to be that the Keys have less for them. Must do some more research. I think I'll start another message.

Thanks
