Driving directly to Epcot (World Showcase)

Just wanted to verify....would it be a closer walk to park at DHS and take the Friendship boat to World Showcase -or- park at Epcot and walk back to World Showcase through the park?

Basically, you're asking which is shorter - from the Friendship boat dock to WS or from the Epcot parking lot to WS. That's easy - from the boat dock it's a short walk to and through security, through the tapstyles, and up the hill, and you are in WS, between the UK and France pavilions. No matter where you park at the front, it will be a much longer walk from the tapstyles to WS, not to mention from your parking space to security and then to the tapstyles. So park at DHS! Just remember, if you plan to stay at Epcot until it closes, pay attention to when DHS closes and when the last Friendship boat to DHS leaves the Epcot dock, or else you'll be walking from Epcot to the DHS parking lot and your car.

I think parking at DHS and taking the boat to EPCOT would take longer but save on some walking, depending on where in the World Showcase you are trying to get to.

If you are just measuring walking distance, yes it would be less. Assuming a similar walk in from the parking lot to either Epcot or DHS I would guess the walking distance difference would be about 2500 feet.

It would take a lot longer on the boat. You would have to stand and wait for the boat which could take 0-20 minutes. Then the boat stops at Swan/Dolphin, YC/BC, Boardwalk, and then World Showcase. The walk from the boat dock to the International Gateway is fairly short. Certainly shorter than the walk in from the front of Epcot. It has been a while since I have taken the complete boat loop but I recall thinking about how slow it was.

Friendship boats take at least 20+ minutes to go from HS to Epcot. They stop at the Dolphin, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk first. Parking at Epcot and walking through would be faster. Plus, you get to see Spaceship Earth which is the best way to start at Epcot, IMO.

If you're going to Epcot, park at Epcot.
