The husbands in our group have tickets for this Thursday's game (11/29) - it starts at 7:30, they want to be in their seats by 7:00. What time should they leave the HoJo (we'll have our car)? The internet says the best way is the 405 N to the 110 N. Is this right? Will there be bad traffic on those roads at that time?

Any help is appreciated!:thumbsup2

I live close to downtown, and drove to DL 3 times last week, each time taking the 10 to the 5, reverse that to get back, 5 north to the 10 west. I would recommend that the guys leave early enough to avoid rush hour, which I'm not sure when that actually is; I don't usually have a car, so I don't deal with it much. I would probably leave the park by around 4, giving them plenty of time to get to the Staple's Center, if they're early they can stop somewhere downtown to eat or something.

Since the 405 doesn't run anywhere near DLR, you'd have to travel a good distance west to reach it. Doesn't seem like the best route to me at all.

I'd just take the 5 North to the 10 West to the 110 North. Sorry, don't know what exit to take coming from that direction, but there are bound to be directional signs. It's right next door to the L.A. Convention Center.

Plan on traffic being terrible -- though at least they will be heading towards downtown at rush hour, rather than away. And parking around Staples can be a nightmare. They should give themselves plenty of time to deal with those factors. I probably wouldn't leave Anaheim any later than 5:00.

I second this. And don't forget that you can also have our Front Desk check traffic at SigAlert.com before they head out- that way, if there are any accidents or if traffic is looking heavier than usual, we can try to help find you a less congested route.

Thanks Everybody! 5 to the 10 it is.

Hi HoJoAnaheim - we are looking forward to staying at your property - we've never been before. See you tomorrow

I am so glad you posted this. We have tickets to a game on Jan 23 and the CM at Disneyland that I spoke to told me it would be about a five minute cab ride  . If we don't have to worry about parking does anyone know an approximate "cab ride" time? TIA

Your tickets are for a game at the Staples Center? [I'm only asking because a cab ride to Angels Stadium or to The Pond is probably about five minutes. Maybe the CM thought you meant you had tickets to one of those places?]

A cab ride to the Staples Center is going to be the same travel time as a car- it will just depend on traffic. SigAlert.com is a really great way to check traffic and find alternate routes.

Whew! I chomped at the bit and hit panic mode for a moment. You are correct, our tickets are actually for Honda Center. Just a bit jealous that you locals have both rinks/teams so close, lol! Thanks :)
