I need directions to HDD from SSR and parking for the HDD. I have never driven always took the boat from MK. Thanks Susan

Somebody may be able to provide better directions but I'll get you started anyway. If you go down Community Drive (or whatever that road is called now - is it Vacation Club Drive?) and go past OKW, you will come out to Bonnet Creek Parkway. Turn right and go past Port Orleans. At the end of this road, take a left (can't remember the name of the road but it is the one that takes you to the MK resort loop around the main parking lot). You will see signs for Fort Wilderness on your right. You have to park in the main parking lot and take a resort bus back to Pioneer Hall.

Sorry for the sketchy details. Like I said, somebody else will probably be able to provide better directions.

Have Fun.

Your directions were perfect. Left out of SSR (at the security gate), past OKW, right at the traffic light, follow the road till it dead ends (past Port Orleans) make a left at the traffic light (at the dead end), go past the golf course and the parking lot for FT Wilderness will be on your right. Park in the parking lot and go to the bus stop (which is currently a tent and not very well labled...they are rebuilding the bus stop). Any colored bus (Yellow, Orange, Purple) are the internal buses, just ask the bus driver if they are going to be stopping at the Settlement Depot for Pioneer Hall and you are all set. Give yourself time though as you do have that bus transfer once you get to the parking lot.

Thanks for the help. I'm map challenged so I'm better with written directions. Susan

We've driven and taken the boat from the MK and the boat is always the fastest (even taking the bus from the hotel to MK then boarding the boat)

Macnjac87, That is the way I usually go to HDD. I will have my adult son with me and he is in a wheelchair. The last time I took the boat back after the HDD the lines were long the boat was overfull and people were being a little testy, my DS would not tolerate this well. He is severly brained injured and doesn't say many words. He does say OLD FART really well and by the time we arrived at the MK dock there would be a boat load of OLD FARTS :rotfl:
So I think we'll stick to driving. Susan
