I know this is a dumb question, but in checking for directions from WDW to Universal, it seems like the most direct route is to take I-4 to Exit 30. Just curious, which direction do you travel on I-4, and is it easy to figure out.

I am a bit directionally challenged, and my GPS is not the best.

Thanks in advance

East. And you can't miss it.

Your GPS is worthless if it can't figure out this route.

If you're using I-4 from Disney, you will want exit 75B which is a left hand exit for Kirkman Road and Universal Studios. Then you'll make a left onto Major Blvd and follow the signs to the parking garage. Exit 30 must have been the old exit number.

I've heard of some GPS routes from Disney that have tried to take people onto the WDW private roads and such.

Not much of a GPS person myself so I can't say I've ever seen it happen, though.

Thanks for all the help. As for my GPS, it always takes forever to find the satellite.

We followed the signs to the highway, and then the signs to universal and then the signs to Royal Pacific. It was our easiest trip of the, um, trip. :)

DH's GPS took him onto a toll road, when going from OKW to the Publix on 192. I *told* him how to get there by normal streets but...you know, electronics are always so much easier than following your wife's directions (since I'm actually our usual navigator, it was a serious lapse in his judgment). The problem with this toll road was that DH had NO cash or change, and it was after the hours that it was manned. (thankfully they have envelopes that you can take, and we sent in a check for the toll)

His GPS doesn't really give you choices...you just take what it gives you, or drive in some other way and HOPE it updates and gives you something new. :headache:

Just find your way to I-4 from wherever you are on Disney property, take I-4 east towards Orlando(I-4 west will say Tampa) and get off at exit 75A(Universal Blvd),75B will also get you to Universal via Kirkman rd but getting off at Universal blvd will be easier.Exit 30 must be from an old map before they switched the exits numbers to miles.

If you look at an area map, you can take back roads too. That's what we did last year to try and avoid crowds coming in. Worked like a charm, no crowds anywhere. :)
