I know this has been posted before, but of course I can't find it with only four days ( :Pinkbounc ) to go...

The "back door" directions into Disney World from Indian Creek.

Can someone please repost these?

Thank you!

Turn right on 192 toward I-4. Turn left on Sherberth Road. There is a Circle K gas station on your right at that light. Follow Sherberth Road and it will lead you right onto Disney property near Animal Kingdom.

Also, in order to find your way back at the end of the day, follow the signs for Animal Kingdom at first, and then more specifically Animal Kingdom Lodge. You'll come to a stop light that I believe was just past the entrance to Animal Kingdom, and you should make a left which gets you back on Sherberth. I believe if you miss this turn you actually end up at Animal Kingdom Lodge and you'd need to turn around. Also, make sure you don't enter the Animal Kingdom parking lot by mistake, and this is why I mentioned following the signs for AKL.

We stayed at Windsor Palms, and are staying at Oak Island Cove which is also in the same area for our upcoming XMAS trip. Transportation to the parks is really quite easy from this area!

WOW...nice new boards...

As you head down Sherberth look straight ahead...see the green tree that is taller than all the rest and a little different shade of green?..It is The Tree of Life and you are just about there!!!

Enjoy..Ted

I'm hoping to resurrect this thread as I have a related question.

My family is staying in Emerald Island, May 2005. In looking at the online maps of the area, I have come to understand the Oak Island Rd/Funie Steed Rd>Formasa Gardens Blvd>192 East>Sherberth Rd>Osceola Hwy route that everyone talks about.

However, when I look at the maps it appears as though you should be able to avoid 192 completely by:

- continuing on Funie Steed Rd until it hits "Entry Point Blvd" which then becomes Sherberth Rd when it passes under/over 192.

From Mapquest this seems like a no-brainer to avoid 192, but no one seems to ever mention it, so I am wondering if there's some reason that is not apparent looking at the online maps. I have no practical experience with this area, I've never stayed there. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Yep, that would work. Personally, I've never found 192 to be a problem so I don't work to avoid it. But if there is some type of backup or unusual volume, you can take Funie Steed to Entry Point as you described. On our last trip, we stayed at Orbit One which is on Entry Point. So we just came out of the development, turned left and crossed 192 onto Sherberth. Very simple.
