I'm new to the board and this is the first Disney trip I've ever really planned. As a kid it was of course my parents, and the one trip I took as an adult, not much planning was involved. My husband and I (boyfriend at the time) were just driving my grandmother's car down to the Tampa area for her and stopped for two nights at Disney. We just called and booked into PO and got admission to MK and Epcot when we got there.

This time we're taking our kids for their first-ever trip. Everyone is super excited (me mostly I think) and while waiting for June hours to be posted so I can plan the days/ADRs, I've been thinking about the drive. We're leaving Ontario the day after the kids get out for the summer and I think have mostly decided to take 3 or even 4 days to drive. DH hates long days driving. Mostly I see people posting here about leaving at night or in the wee hours and doing most of the drive in a day and a half or two days.

Does anyone else do the longer trek and if so where are your favorite cities to stop? I'm picking up Along the I75 today but would appreciate any advice on a 3 or 4 day drive.

How about a detour and visiting Mammoth Cave in Kentucky?

I enjoyed the Coke museum in Atlanta 20 years ago! They have a new one now.
