I know that staying at FW it is easy to catch the boat to the MK (from what I read, havent been there yet), but do you think it is easier, faster, more convenient to drive your own vehicles to the other parks and the water parks?? My husband wants to drive the least amount possible but I thought it would be easier to just hop in and go instead of waiting for a bus. What is your opinions on this?

Thanks,

Lory

Only 350 days until our first FW trip:D

Why bother with triing to figue out how to get there and back, deal with the hassle of having to park so far from the entrance to the parks when the busses will pick you up and drop you off at the front door. The transportation system very reliable and much less stressful, the way a vacation should be.
Enjoy

OK, so if the parks normally open at 9:00 but EE is at 8:00, what time will the buses start running??

Thanks again

Lory

We use Disney transportation for most things, but to go to a water park we prefer to drive. You really are taken on a round-about trip back from the water parks and I hate that when I'm wet and exhausted!

Have fun planning!

We are DVC members, and stay at FWCG fairly often also. We always drive to AK and Disney Studios. Driving to MK is a pain ... either the bus or the boat is way better. When we stay at the BWV or the BCV we walk to Epcot. When at FW we drive to Epcot.

Sometimes the buses run fairly often and sometimes not. Also they are frequently full, especially toward the end of the day, or first thing in the morning and you have to stand.

You can certainly get anywhere on property via busses and boats, we just find it more convenient to drive sometimes.

Our favorite mode of transport is golf cart within FW and take that cart to either the marina or outpost, depending on where we're going. To drive could take just as long and sometimes more difficult. Getting to and from the park to your vehicle, finding your way back (we actually got turned around after MVMCP going back to the fort  ). In addition, I think it takes away from some of the magic. The transport system can be crowded at your busier seasons, but then we often wait 15 minutes or so (have that last Mickey Bar on Main Street!) and let things clear out a bit. No problems then!

Have fun planning! I see you have near a year to plan and 'strategize'. You're in the right place!
