I asked this on the California and West part of the message board and no one answered, so I'm hoping someone here can help.

We are staying in the Redondo Beach area and wanted to know how long it is going to take to get to Six Flags Magic Mountain on a weekday. The park opens at 10AM.

Also, I'm figuring about an hour to get to Disneyland from Redondo Beach - Is that correct?

I can't tell you how excited I am to go to California and Disneyland!!!

Assuming you can use the carpool lanes, I'd guess 1 hour to 1.25 hours upto MM.

Over to DL an hour does sound good. Remember to give yourself about 30 more minutes for the parking structure and tram. Or 15 if you go to the Toy Story lot.

I live near Redondo Beach, and the fastest it's taken to get to Magic Mountain is 45 minutes. Since you have to get to the freeway first, then go to Magic Mountain, I think skiingfast called it right. Plan on an hour to a little over, depending on traffic.

It will take you about an hour to get to DL because you'll be driving through surface streets, and that will add to your time.

Have fun in Redondo Beach. It's a really nice area.

Mary Jo - would you mind sharing the route you take to Disneyland and where you park?

From Torrance, if I take Torrance Blvd or Carson street I would go to the 110 freeway north to the 91 east - 5 south. If I take 190th, I would drive all the way to Main street, and then take the 91 east.

I live close to Main Street, though, so it's just a familiar way to me.

I park at Mickey & Friends since I have an AP.

Where are you staying at Redondo Beach?

Best Western Sunrise. Just needed a place to sleep and shower!

Thanks for the infomation. Can anyone park at Mickey & Friends? Or do you have to be an AP holder? (I'm looking for easy access so I don't get lost).

Honestly park in the TOY STORY LOT it is so quick and easy to get in and out of. They have shuttle from there to the parks constantly. I was very impressed with how well they run that lot. Mickey and friends seems like it would be the closest but it takes so long to finally get in to the park because you have to park in the garage then you have to walk to the tram then you have to take the tram which is slower than a bus and if its hot outside you dont escape the heat like you would on a nice air conditioned bus. But thats just my opinion. :flower3:

The M&F parking lot was the main parking lot for everyone. Costs $15. Some APs have parking included.

Almost a year ago the Toy Story lot opened. It is also a pay on entry lot for the same price. But for the reasons in the post above way better.

Notice in my responce above I wrote this "Remember to give yourself about 30 more minutes for the parking structure and tram. Or 15 if you go to the Toy Story lot." That is because the TS lot is much easier and will save you time.

Is there a certain exit I get off of on 5 South to get to Toy Story parking lot?

You can get off on Harbor Blvd, and turn right. It will be on the left. :)

You can also take the next exit at "Disneyland" and be dropped onto Disney Way, turn right at the end of the ramp, then where Disney Way makes a Tee with Harbor you will be directed by electric signs to turn left, south on Harbor to the TS lot.

Also you can exit on Katella the next exit. The ramp makes a clover leaf so you will go left onto Katella. Then a left from Katella, and a left onto Harbor.

So either of the three exits.

Toy Story lot is off Harbor on the left at the first light after the interesection with Katella. If you want to print directions you can use 1900 S Harbor Anaheim, CA 92802 as the adress.
