We'll be at WDW during the middle of May (10-19) and going to IOA for one day. We'll have a car so are planning on driving. Can someone tell me how long it takes to make the drive and what time we should plan on leaving to make sure to get to IOA when the park opens.

Thanks so much.

It takes about 20 minutes with no traffic and I would leave an hour early to get a parking spot and get up to the gate.

If you are trying to get to IOA when it opens, you will need to allow at least 45 minutes to an hour. There's a good chance you will hit traffic on I-4 not to mention the traffic on Disney property. As many times as I've been to Disney from my house, it's never taken 20 minutes from Disney to Universal unless you're the only car on the road and you don't hit any lights...which is unlikely.

We do a split stay between Disney and Universal every year and it's never taken us 45 minutes. We don't take I-4 though.

What is the best way to get there?

I think the drive time will likely be 20-30 minutes unless there's an accident or delay,so give yourself 1 hour at least as after you get there and park there's still about a 10 minute walk to the park's gate from the garages.

The fastest way would be World Dr. to Epcot Center Dr. to I-4 east and get off at exit 75A,which is Universal blvd.Turn left get on the right lane as the entrance is to your right.

Dont want to start a new thread...

I will be staying at Coronado Springs and going to IOA for one day in early December. Planning on taking a cab. Hoping for not more than $50 each way. Does that seem right?

I think it's more like $30-35 each way if I'm not mistaken.
