Hi! We will be going to SW for the first time on Sat, July 18 and we're hoping for some advice...

How much time should we allow for travel/parking between WDW (Shades of Green) and SW? We'd like to be there by park opening (9am). Thanks in advance!

google maps says it will take about 20 minutes, I would give it 45 in case you miss a turn.

Thanks for posting the directions and info - your idea of planning on 45 minute travel time sounds good! :)

Do you know how traffic is about that time in the morning? That's the part that has me concerned...

no way to predict, when I was going to Passholder Manta mornings at 8am, traffic was dense but moving at the limit. (20 minutes to the parking lot from Celebration (I-4 at World Drive)

this morning there was an accident at SR535 (right by downtown Disney) that backed up traffic according to the news. If there are no accidents you should be fine.

Sea world has some bad traffic if you catch it on a busy day. I would suggest being there 30min ahead of opening. Do not show up an hour after. We have been caught there before and spent 3hrs trying to get in due to the bad traffic flow around the park. my suggestion would be to hit Manta first off and then head straight to Kracken. Manta holds most peoples attraction. We did this a few weeks ago and rode Kracken for almost an hour before the lines went over 10min . Have fun donw here and stay hydrated. Also watch the weather if tstorms are predicted find somewhere in the park to relax. The park usually empties out in the evening.

I would leave about 30 minutes early. It could be possible to run into a bit of traffic since you'll be travellng towards downtown, but most traffic doesn't start to back up till you reach the 528. It's easy enough to get there.

Head towards Epcot, but stay to the left so you don't go into the parking lot. Then hop on I-4 and get off at central florida pkwy, you're left turn will be like the third light or something. Just don't get into the far left lane after you get off the highway cause it turns into a left lane at the light before the sea world entrance... I've only made that mistake a few times.
