We are planning a trip to LegoLand in May, just wondering what would be better... driving there or taking a shuttle using All Anaheim Tours or Grayline. We're concerned that with the shuttles, we'll be staying a short amount of time in the park. Has anyone taken these buses? Did you have adequate time in the park? Thanks.

We just got back from DL and Legoland today. We researched extensively into deciding on renting a car from DL and driving ourselves or taking the Grayline bus. After finding out that the bus doesn't just travel to Legoland, they do other tours as well and having to travel to multiple locations to pick people up at their hotels........we chose to drive. We rented a car for $30 from DTD Alamo and spent 6.5 hours at Legoland. We hit minimal traffic on the way back about 7 miles from the park and it was never completely stopped. We saved money by doing the rental car and getting our free Legoland tickets by enrolling in the Brickmaster Club through Lego. I was extremely easy to get there and back to Anaheim.

Thanks, I was really leaning towards renting a car & driving & your comment just finalized my decision.

How was DTD Alamo? I have been to DTD so where are the rental places located?

What time did you leave the DL area? We're also struggling with this decision, and are pretty nervous about driving in crazy traffic on both the trip there and trip back.

This was the first time we used Alamo....we are National fans ourselves. The location is facing the Dreams tower at the DLH and is right next to Compass Books. The car lot is within 20 yards of the rental station. We brought our own GPS (you can rent them there also) for our own security.

I was also nervous.........On Thursday 1/31 we left the parking lot of the DL Hotel at 8:45 a.m. and were in the Legoland park by 10:15 a.m. We left Legoland at 4:30 p.m. (it is open from 10-5) and got back to the hotel around 6:00 p.m.

We hit traffic only about 7 miles from the hotel on the way back and like I said it was never fully stopped. It probably delayed us about 15 min. total. I have heard Fridays are worse so keep that in mind.

It was so smooth we are considering venturing out again on our next trip.

I went to the lego land site and could not find brickmaster info? Where did i find this.

Keep in mind that if you have two or more people in your car you can use the car pool lane which comes in handy.
