Drive or bus to Royal Table Breakfast?

I have not been to WDW in 8 years and I am kind of stressing out about our 8:20 am Royal Table Breakfast the day after we arrive( on a Saturday). I am concerned about making it on time, so I was wondering if we should drive ourselves to MK or if we should rely on the WDW bus to get us there. How soon should we leave our hotel (All Star Sports) to make sure we have enough time to familiarize(sp?) with MK to make it there on time. We really fell into this as I booked our reservation for 4 after the 90 day mark. We get really lucky and I am just not that lucky so I just have this bad feeling somehow we are going to miss it. Also for anyone who has been, do little boys dress up? My DD 4 is dressing up as Belle, and I am sure that DS 3 is going to want to dress up, but of course there aren't any little boy prince costumes....

I have the same question. Have a 8:05 CRT ADR for 10/1, and wondering if I should drive or take the bus from Pop Century. Would love to hear from someone with experience with both... My assumption is that the TTC will be empty at 7:30 and it would be easy to drive, park close, and jump on the monorail to the gate. :moped:
Seems that would be faster than the bus, and wouldn't have to worry about waiting for the 1st bus in the AM. :rolleyes1

:teeth: bus, bus, take the bus!!!! :teeth:

We just did it last month with an 8:05 at Crystal Palace and an 8:10 at CRT...get the first bus in the morning and you will be FINE! You will be there in plenty of time and you will have to wait in line until 8:00 to get in the gate anyways. (We did this once from ASMo and once from WL and didn't have any problems with either).

Last trip ('03), we drove, thinking we could just hop on the monorail, but it ended up making a few stops first, and we actually were late. (we did not leave ourselves as much time, thinking that "oh, it will be so much quicker"....)

Have fun!!!!

What time does the first bus usually run? I am a planner so I like to have things figured out in my head. Especially since it is the first day we are there and won't be familiar with the park yet. So we won't be able to get into the park until 8? I was thinking at when I made the res that she said something about a different gate to go in...It was a little while ago and I could be mistaken.

The busses start operating before 7AM(mostly for CM at CR). You will be fine if you are at the bust stop 45-50 minutes prior to your ADR.

Go to the turnstyles at the far right.

Thanks Ed.

Any one prefer driving over the busses to an early AM ADR at MK? Or is the consensus that using the Bus is the easiest way to go? :confused3

I believe there are pirate and Peter Pan costumes for little boys, and I'd bet the princesses would make just as big a deal over those.

The only reason many prefer the bus to MK is because the bus drops you off right at MK gates, whereas if you drive, you have to park at TTC parking lot, take a tram or walk to the TTC, then take a monorail to the MK gate.

As a matter of convenience, it's easier to hop on a bus. The downside, you do have to wake up earlier because you have to allow more time to travel by bus.

If you drive, it only takes you about 15 minutes to get to TTC.

Any other park, I'd say drive... but being it's MK, it's the one park that I prefer to take the bus.

So do you suggest driving to our AK breakfast? Of course it is just right around the corner from All star sports anyway. But we also have something at the Contemporary Resort. For that is it easiest to go to MK and take the monorail? Thanks for all of your help. I just want to make sure we are ready as my kids are VERY excited and I don't want to miss it or be late.

We drive each time. Why wait? Jump in the car, it's really nice to be in the first row in the parking lot. Then when we're ready to go back, just jump in the car and drive back, again why wait and complain about the crowded buses? Parking is free as long as you stay on site plus it's just less stressful.

AK is a little iffy. There have been reports that cars have been held at the parking lot entrance and not allowed to go in until just before opening time.

As far as CR goes, if you know you're spending the day at MK, then I'd take the bus to MK then walk to CR. It's only a 5-10 minute leisurely walk. You could drive to CR but you'll only get a 3 hour parking pass, at which time you'll need to move your car back to the TTC if you're staying at MK.

Last year was our very character breakfast at CRT. We were totally stressed that we were going to miss it. However, we took the bus with no problem. Just us and a few other families that had early morning ressies. I am pretty sure that buses start running at 7:00. My son dressed as prince, which was his ballet costume, and he was really cute (he took ballet, husband hated that he took it, but he was he class with my daughter, brothers get free lessons, and he didn't have to wait with me in the lobby for an hour).
