Drive or Bus to MK

We will have a rental car but have heard we can get to MK quicker by bus. What's your opinion? We have always drove to all parks.

If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort the bus would be a lot faster becasue it drops you off right by the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. If you were to take you're car you would have to 1st park at the TTC, take their tram and then either take the Express Monorail or boat to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom. So I say use Walt Disney Transportation buses, that is if you're staying onsite and not offsite.

The only time we drive to a park is if we are coming from or going to somewhere other than our Disney resort.

Long bus delays are really not all that common... normally we think the bus is our best bet and the least hassle... and the coolest (no car ovens to deal with.)

We do like to have a car for driving to the other resorts for dinner though... two bus rides and getting there on time means starting off an hour before.. and often arriving very early because you allowed extra time....and waiting for dinner.

We drive to the parks EXCEPT MK, for the reasons CR 4 stated. Can't beat the convenience of having your own car, but the tram then ferry or monorail hassle at MK makes the bus way faster.

Here is something I forgot to mention. If you're planning to stay until the Magic Kingdom closes and you drove there, it will take you a while to get back to you're car. My family and I have been on the Resort Monorail just before the Magic Kingdom officially closed or was about to close and the lines for the Express Monorail and boat to the TTC were very long. With the Disney Transport buses they send a lot more when the Magic Kingdom is closed, so if you missed it then it should not be long until another one arrives.
