Day 1 - Feb 20, 2004
We left our home at 12 noon. After a quick trip to the bank, we were on the road. It's basically a strait shot to Orlando. Just go down I-75 South.
And what a scenic drive it is to. Just trees, billboard signs, trees, some road constuction, trees, small little town, mixed in with a few big towns. And oh, ya, did I tell you about the trees? The traffic was not that bad. No traffic jams, the first time in three years that that has not happened.
Got to the Hotel Royal Plaza at Downtown Disney Resort around 6:30 pm. Small line to check in. But here is the fun part. Two people, and only one key. Had to go back to the lobby to get another key before we headed out for dinner. The room is really well located rm 1420, in the tower. At night we will be able to see the fireworks from Pleasure Island, Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. Just got to watch the "New Years Eve" fireworks at PI. I stopped by the Disney Store that they have in the lobby after dinner. For all you pin collectors out there (like me) they no longer sell pins. Or at least I did not see any. Did see some nice fanny packs, I think I will be adding one of them to my fanny pack collection.
Had dinner at Chevys. The place was packed. But all things considered, wait time was not that bad. The food was great. If you are ever in the place you should try the Sour Apple Margarita. It was great, it tasted just like candy. But with a kick.
Going resort hoping tomorrow. Should be fun. Never done that before. Then its dinner at Oliva's at Old Key West Resort. From some of the pics that I have seen it looks like a beautiful resort, really looking foward to seeing it in person.
Well. that is all for now. Gotta get some sleep for tomorrow. I will post more tomorrow night. I hope all will enjoy my little trip report.
