Can someone please remind me what time the drinks station on Deck 9 closes. Also can you get hot chocolate from room service or will we have to order hot water and take some sachets from the drinks station earlier in the day for my night-time hot chocolate fix if the station has closed.

Thanks.

Karen

The drink station is open 24 hours a day. I think room service offers hot chocolate, but I am not positive.

I know that it used to be open 24 hours (pre Norwalk). I think that it was shut down ("tarped up") from around midnight to 6am or so when we cruised this summer.

Anyone sail reciently that knows otherwise?

I remember seeing the drink station covered with fitted canvas covers late at night. We were on the March 29 Mystery cruise.

How odd - when I sailed on the Wonder in February, the drinks station was always open and I frequently visited it as late as 1 or even 2am....a few other people were usually around at that time using it too.

You can order from Room Service.
We did this one morning for DD's they bring you hot water and the packets of Chocolate.

We were on the 10/2 Wonder, and I got drinks there at 1:00 am on Thursday. The navigators refer to it as the "24 hour" drink station, and list its hours as "24". When I checked the navigators on Dave's site for the Magic, it lists the "Topsiders coffee station" as being open from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm. (This was from August 03)

During the 7/19 Western cruise, the drink station indeed did shut down every night and I missed being able to use it several times. It was closed by 11:00 pm except on nights when there was a deck party on Deck 9, and then it was closed by midnight. It did not reopen until between 6:00 and 6:30 am each morning, and generally opened after they had already put danishes and things out.

Perhaps the drink station on the Magic closes at night, and the Wonder's is open 24 hours?

On the July 17 cruise on the Wonder, I got coffee at the drink station every morning at 5 AM. Several CMs mentioned that it was open 24 hours.

Karen - 24/7
Are you an insomniac? I can meet you there any night!!!

Rae

Rae, it's a deal. Just remember to bring the rum!!

Karen - you are a girl after my own heart!~

Now you know why I liked going to Puerto Rico!

Rae

Rae,

What's the deal with Bosco? Too much to hope that it's a brand of rum??

Karen

Karen, it's a chocolate syrup from New York. You have to try it. I'll bring you a bottle (plastic). You will think you have died and gone to chocolate heaven.

But that's only my opinion, I also love liver and onions and spinach, sourdough bread and licorice!

Rae

I'm with you on the licorice!

Rae - I remember Bosco from my childhood. Loved it - the rest (Iliver and onions and spinach, sourdough bread and licorice) you can keep to yourself.
:teeth:

How about anchovies?!

Okay, back on topic - I love the 24/7 bar - it's one of the best feature on the ship - especially when it's early AM and I can go up and either bring my coffee to the room and sit on the verandah or just stay on deck and enjoy it.

Having the multiple tea choices is nice also - besides chamomile, I like Earl Gray.

Not sure what the deal will be with the Coffee house idea they have built, but I doubt if it will have the ambiance of watching the sun rise or set over the water!
