Drinks on DDP

I'm sure this has been asked at some point but I couldn't find anything in a quick perusing of the first few pages.

Drinks on DDP. Our last trip was the first time we used the dining plan and loved it, but got sick of a fountain drink every single time. Is that our only option? Could I drink water with my meal and get coffee with dessert? Any other secret options I don't know about?!

Tea and coffee are always options with both TS and QS (where they have it). Some TS will let you get a smoothie or shake as your drink; just ask your server when ordering what drinks are options on the DDP. I think you'll be surprised!

The dining plan includes soda, coffee, tea, lemonade - anything that typically comes with free refills. At some Disney owned TS restaurants we've also had milkshakes, smoothies (usually no refill), virgin cocktails and pressed pot coffee. It varies so you'll have to ask if something on the menu sounds good. Third party restaurants usually adhere to just the free refill type of drinks.

You can have tap water with your meal and coffee (although specialty coffees may be excluded) with dessert.

Also, at many CS places, if you don't want dessert, you can often ask for a bottle of water instead.
