<p><font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#9900CC" size="3">We're staying at AKL next weekend and have PS for dinner at Boma's Saturday night. I was going to make ressies for someplace at the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney for Friday night but it will most likely be too chilly to walk around (since moving to Florida 9 years ago I get hysterical when it falls below 65 degrees!) <br>
Thought it might be nice to have dinner at the Wilderness Lodge. I've never been there and heard it has a very "warm" feel to it with fireplaces, etc. Thought we'd try the Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner. Is there a bar/lounge with "atmosphere" where we could go to sit and and enjoy some cocktails before we eat?</font>:chat:

We love the WL and think that it has that wonderful warm feel. Be aware however that WCC is very loud and up beat. It is not at all the cozy warm feel resturant. If you are looking for that, you might be happier with Artist Point. More upscale but has that warm cozy feel to it. There is a lounge at WL, but we have never been in it and I know nothing about it. There is also a pool side bar and I am sure you could get a drink there and enjoy it while sitting in the lobby. BTW, we love just sitting and people watching in that great lobby.

Oooooh... we love WL. DH and I enjoy the lounge very much. We have spent many hours sitting in there. It is small but people are usually just dropping in. We like the cozy couch and chairs at the end of lounge. The Artist Point is a wonderful dining experience. It is more expensive but very nice. Whispering Canyon is fun but it is loud, my dh doesn't like it for that reason. The boys ages 12 & 11, however, love it. I can't wait to get my 5yr old there!
:D

I'd just echo the previous comments regarding Whispering Canyon and Artist Point. Whispering Canyon is loud and a "participatory", antics-filled atmosphere. If you prefer a more quiet atmosphere, Artist Point is a much better restaurant.

The lounge is called the Territory Lounge and we always have a drink there prior to dinner at Artist Point. It's right next door to the restaurant and adjacent to the Wilderness Lodge lobby.

Good once Uncleromulus--you would "echo" comments about Whispering Canyon:p
