Drinks For Room-Purchasing Alcohol Offsite?

We are staying at the DLH and won't have a car. I am placing an order for snacks/breakfast things with Vons but was wondering if we should order alcohol (tequila and beer) as well or if there is a convenience-type store within walking distance that would have this. I'm concerned about the need to be onsite for delivery if we order booze from Vons.

Our flight lands at SNA at 9:50 AM. If we do decide to order our alcohol what delivery window would you recommend? We plan on using Uber from the airport.

From what I've ready the DL resort properties will not accept a Vons delivery if it contains alcohol. I'm not sure why, perhaps due to the ages of the CMS receiving the order? If you could arrange a delivery time where you would be the one signing to accept the order I'm wondering if that would be ok? I'm arriving next Sunday and I'm having Vons delivered before my arrival time as I purposefully did not include alcohol. Wish I could tho! I did for both my previous stays at the Sheraton and Hojo.

info on the Vons site seemed to indicate that you must be present to accept delivery if it includes alcohol. It's only an hour window so I want to make sure we're there!

Not really. There's a CVS on Euclid/Katella - quite a walk. Anaheim Liquor is north of Disney on Euclid/Ball.

When I stayed at the hojo the delivery was accepted without us being there but policies can change. I noticed that under the 1 hour window... does the same hold trues regardless of 1 2 or 3 hour delivery windows?

Can the uber driver maybe make a quick stop at the store? I've never taken one so not sure if there are rules about it.

I'd just ask the uber driver to stop. If nothing else, offer him $10 to make the stop and tell him you are only buy an item or two so it wont take you long.

I would just stop at the CVS. There's one at harbor and Katella now. Or there is another store that sells all sorts of beer wine and liquor right on the other side of Katella up harbor from the 711.

Might not be an easy walk from dlh but we've walked further for various reasons.

Or have your driver stop. Or have the driver let DH off there and you continue on, and DH can get another uber or a cab.

Or rent a car for the day, pick up at SNA and dropoff at downtown Disney (using Alamo) or there's an Alamo/national place on Katella with a shuttle. That way you could go where you want. Vons, trader joes, etc.

I just really dislike ordering groceries from websites.

Uber has metering similar to taxis so I'm sure the driver would be happy to stop for a higher fare. You could contact Uber customer support beforehand just to make sure it's not against their policy.

From personal experience, you must be at the hotel to sign for the package if it includes alcohol. When we were staying at the Grand, Von's told us it wasn't a problem to deliver alcohol, but then when they attempted to deliver, the hotel refused it. Not just the alcohol, but the entire delivery. It was a real problem to get Von's to come back -- they originally told us they wouldn't come back until the next day.

Also -- We had a front desk attendant tell us she would sign for us, but bell services was the department that refused the delivery. Not sure why the discrepancy unless as someone mentioned above, bell services staff aren't old enough to sign.

We decided to go ahead and include the booze in our Vons order. Our plane lands at 9:50 and I chose an 11-12 delivery window, We plan on using Uber from SNA, do you think we'll make it or should I reschedule?
