We keep going back and forth on this and I thought who better to ask but Disney brides.

We are having a 9:00 ceremony in Epcot followed by a pre-reception and then reception at ADH. This is what we were originally thinking as far as drinks go.

Pre-Reception - Coffee, Decaf, Tea, Champagne Punch and Soft Drink Package

Reception - Package Bar - Call Brands

We are being charged for the Coffee, Decafe and Tea at the Pre-reception because the coffee, decaf and tea that comes with the brunch is only served at the brunch and we figured at 10:00am people will want coffee and such. Do you think this is a good idea?

The champagen punch is $75.00 per gallon and they recommend 5 gallons (we are having 54 people). If there is any left over they will bring it down to the reception. If we also have the softdrink package during this time - the price of this for 53 people (we have one infant) is $424.00. This sounds like alot - especially when we will also have coffee, tea, decafe and punch. I hate the thought of doing BOC but this might be the best thing.

I know this is long but does anyone have any suggestions.

thanks,
Linda

Frankly, Linda, considering how early your event is I would not do a bar at all. Just coffee, tea, etc. at the pre-reception and then the soft drink package and a champagne punch of some sort at the reception. Our ceremony is at 10. At our 11:00 pre-reception, we are doing coffee, tea, etc. and at the reception we are doing a soft drink/water BOC with our signature (non-alcholic) drink for the toast. I hope that helps.

Thanks, yes it does help. I definately want to offer alcholic drinks but we just spent some time with an excel spreadsheet and I think we are going to do BOC. If we do the package in the 3.5 hours, based on $7.00 a drink (which is high) everyone would have to have 6 drinks to equal out. We have 5 gallons of punch ordered, we might get an extra one, this way if everyone likes it - they will drink less beer, wine and drinks.

Besides the fact that in between everyone will be eating breakfast food, wedding cake, taking pictures and hopefully dancing. People should drink less doing all this also.

For a brunch or lunch reception, you can definitely go with B.O.C. and save some money that way. Package bar is really way too much alcohol for most people at that time of day.

You could maybe offer "brunch"-y drinks instead of punch also. Such as Mimosas and/or Bloody Marys. I don't know how much those would cost though.

Definitely do BOC for early receptions. We did BOC and got billed for FIVE, yes, FIVE drinks. (My dad asked, five per person? :lmao: ) The one thing we didn't consider was that people did want champagne so they could have mimosas. We only used one bottle for that. We did the coffee package as well. HTH :thumbsup2

I think I might keep the sodas for the pre-reception and move the punch to the reception. Don't know if some of your guest might not want a drink until after they have eaten something.

I love following all of you Epcot brides, as we are thinking of doing a VR at Epcot for our 20th. (This is all thanks to Lurkyloo and Vanessa, DH now loves the AAR option along with Morrocco).

We will be ordering champagne for the toast and I will inquire about extra for Mimosas. I can't believe there were only five drinks at your wedding. We will probably still have the champagne punch at the cocktail hour - but whatever is left will be brought down for the reception.

A few people I have mentioned a 10:00 cocktail hour to have said "ok - we can start drinking early" but when it actually comes down to it most of our guests are between 40 and 55 years old - and are not big drinkers normally. I don't think people will really start drinking beer and alcholic drinks until after the brunch - and then comes the cake - so probably not until 1:00pm or so.
