drinks at HDDR

I have seen a few posts about the beer, wine, & sangria that is served at the HDDR as not being very good.
Is it really that bad??? :confused3
It was the only way I could convince my DH to go :rotfl: He does like to have a beer every now and then.

We drank beer at the show and it was fine! No complaints at all!! Once the show starts your DH will love it and the "drinks" won't even be an issue! :teeth:

We didn't have beer, we had the sangria, it was very good. Also, we each asked at the beginning for a sangria and a soda and we were brought them both out, no problems. I thought my dh wasn't going to like it, but he was the one that was laughing the most!! In fact, we're going again on 10/5 to celebrate dd's 2nd birthday.

I had a sangria, and it was not the best, too dry for my tase and not fruity enough, but not terrible. DH had wine, and his reaction was about the same, not the worst, but not the best. That said, we had a great time!

I've not had a problem with the drinks there -- even with the beer. But then again, I don't consider myself a beer expert. It wasn't my favorite (Killian's), but it wasn't Miluwakee's Best either.

Our server was a bit gruff, in a Disney way, if you know what I mean. My sister (who isn't into the whole Disney things) asked him for Merlot. He said "red or white" and she again said Merlot. He brought her the sangria, I think, and she refused to drink it. Said it was swill!

That was three trips ago - our last with extended family or friends! LOL!

It isn't bad - it's just basic Bud Light and a decent Sangria. Very basic, very inexpensive, but not bad.

Bud Light for beer. Sangria and White Zinfendel for the wine (served in a mason jar, very classy!)

A previous poster described the sangria as too dry and not fruity enough, and I second that. The whole reason for drinking sangria is the fun fruitiness (TAG FAIRY -- PLEASE IGNORE THIS LINE!).

I'm a self-admitted beer snob, so there was no way I was going near Bud Light. But the last thing I cared about at HDDR was alcohol. We had a great time, even our 2 year old and 5 year old enjoyed it!

My big complaint was about the ribs. I was hoping for ribs cooked the way I enjoy them, melting off the bone and melting in your mouth. I took one bite of one rib and didn't go back for more -- it was tougher than my leather watch band.

My five year old's favorite thing there was the strawberry shortcake dessert. I'll never forget it -- he saw all the servers up there as the curtain opened and yelled to me, "Look, Daddy, dessert live on stage!"

I don't know if they still do this, but they brought my DH a pitcher of beer upon request. He was set through the whole show. BTW, he doesn't even keep beer in the fridge at home. Must be something about Disney, cause he will also pay the big bucks to go fishing on the lagoon but doesn't even buy a license at home, go figure.
