I know there is information out there about this...but I do not see an answer to my question. We are planning on drinking through the world showcase with some friends on our trip in April. We know that all of the countries have different drinks...but can you just go order them without having a seating reservarion? What countries besides Germany, Japan, and England have bars?

Any thoughts from people who have done this would be great.

Thanks! :pug:

Hey--finally someone who thinks like we do!!! Have done the circut several times. All of the countries have an outdoor bar where you can purchase your alcoholic beverages. Our favorites for beer are Germany, Canada and England. If you have some extra time while in England, go into the Pub for your drinks. It's a riot. We usually start in Canada and work our way around the countries. Do not, I repeat, do not order beer from France--get yourself a glass of wine. When you get to Mexico, just go with the margarita's. The United States has a normal selection of beer. We don't always stop here. Norway also has a good selection. Don't want to get into trouble here---we share our drinks as we make our way around the world. Keep your first glass from where you start, and share with your group. Keep in mind you may have kids to watch for the entire evening and you don't want to burn out early! Let me know if I can be of any more help.

There is a fun wine tasting room in Italy that I discovered on my last trip. They have a wonderful red sparkling dessert wine that I really enjoyed. I also love the margaritas from Mexico!

I love the kir royales at France. Italy has a cute little wine bar with some decent selections. I always get the white blend (I think it is a chardonaay-pinot grigio), not because it is the best one, but because it's our "house wine" when we take our summer vacation.

The margaritas in Mexico are OK, but a little too sweet for my liking.

If you're going all the way around the world, make sure you share your drinks within your group! There's a lot of countries in the WS!

If you do a search for "lushes of the World" on the boards, you will find a whole thread and group dedicated to drinking around the world . It has the answers to most of your questions

If you're looking to capture the atmosphere of a country as well as a buzz, I found a good alternative is to stop in a given country's sit-down restaurant at a slow time, sample one signature appetizer such as Canada's Cheese Soup to go with your beverage. That way you experience the countries that don't feature a proper indoor pub such as the Rose&Crown. We spread this out over multiple days.

I love that idea!!!! I think I'm going to "borrow" it from you for my next trip. That would also be a great way to sample some of the restaurants that I haven't had a chance to try yet without having to invest the time or the money in a full meal. Thanks for the suggestion.

This sounds like such a good idea, not to get drunk, but to taste the drinks :)

This sparkling wine is GREAT! There are some other countries that offer wine tastings as well....we always like to do those!

When we do this, we usually start at Mexico and work our way around. When we get to France, we usually do a glass of champagne. It is so fun! Have a blast! :drinking1

Italy also has Bellini's. They are like fruit juice with champagne, I think. It comes in a plastic champagne glass that you can keep. Germany also has some wines too. I know most people think of the beer, but they also have some wines. I agree with the idea of sharing. Drinking around the World is expensive, if nothing else. I don't suggest going on SPACE after drinking a whole bunch. You might also consider Test Track and Soaring BEFORE drinking as well.

But if you're really interested in drinking in Epcot - you might also want to consider going during the Food and Wine Festival. Then you can try a whole bunch of countries' beverages. Some are even free (if you consider waiting for like an hour while in Epcot to be 'free.') We did do the Sam Adams thing last year, and it was pretty cool. They gave you samples of several beers and talked about how they brew them and all. WE didn't have to wait long for it, but then we kind of showed up at just the right time, too.

Speaking from personal experience, don't have the sake in Japan or the Aquavit in Norway unless you have time for a LONG nap afterwards.... ;)

Thanks for all of the great ideas...i have the feeling it may get kind ofo expensive so sharing in some countries may be a good idea. We are definatly not planning on going on any rides after this adventure...
