I am interested too. I have a lot of issues with my gut that no medication or doctor has been able to help.
I am actually sitting here drinking it right now, mixed into a mug of hot herbal tea. I think it's a little more bearable in room temperature water though! My "method" if you will, has been really simple - I just take a tall drinking glass each morning, fill it to the top with tap water, and then pour a bit of ACV in it and stir it up. I really don't measure the ACV but I think it's probably 2-3 teaspoons at most. It definitely is enough to taste bad but hopefully not do any damage to my teeth. I have heard that drinking it with a straw is even more teeth protection. Then I just grab a sip of it throughout the day until it's gone. Sometimes in the evening I fill up another glass but I don't think I've ever consumed two whole glasses like this in one day. When I am work I don't remember to drink it as much as when I am at home or teleworking. Actually the fact that it has greatly reduced my ongoing pain (which was often quite severe) makes me think for the first time that the doctors have been right all along about this being reflux. I was getting quite frustrated with them saying that (I saw just about every specialist and had just about every test you can think of!) but since ACV is known to help with reflux, and this seems to do so, then perhaps they were right. I know for sure that Prilosec (and many other OTC antacids) did not help me, in any dosing amount or pattern, as I tried them all. I actually think it was making things worse. I don't know that I completely understand the mechanism by which ACV, which is highly acidic, actually alkalizes your body, but it definitely seems to work! I feel as though it has also been easier to maintain my weight, and I do not get sudden blood sugar surges either. (I try to take a big sip first thing in the morning and also before meals)
One more thing: when you take a lot of antacids, it can cause you to become iron deficient, which is what happened with me, since iron needs acid to be absorbed. Unfortunately, I believe in hindsight that this became a double whammy for my esophagus. I was told to take iron supplements and even switched to the gentlest kind on the market, but I feel that they are very harsh going down, and exacerbated the pain. I have been much better since stopping the iron. Hopefully, since I am now nearly 100% weaned off the Prilosec (do NOT attempt to wean quickly if you are on a PPI!!) my iron levels will return to normal.. I also try to eat a lot of iron rich foods now...
Thanks to the mod for moving this and I'm sorry it got off topic!
