So my wife (a light weight) and myself a (middle weight) want to drink around the world but not spend 10 bucks a drink I know its possible because I already looked at some menus and their are afforable drinks to be had. She likes the liquor and mixes and very fond of the sangria type stuff. I love the imported beer stuff! What should we try? where? in what order etc? We are gonna be spending two days at epcot (my wife calls it apricot) and that means one whole day for world showcase!!!

Thanks in advance.

P.S. We wont be driving so we plan to do what we did in barcalona which is using the buildings walls to walk against so we dont fall down go boom! lol

If she's willing, you could always split some of the drinks like the margarita in Mexico. My DH and I also split a sake in Japan. It helps us to keep our pace by splitting some of the beverages.

We are also planning on Drinking Around the World during our trip at the end of the month. I prefer liquor to beer as well and think I will stick to mixed drinks instead of beer (or at least start with liquor!) The rest of my group will be getting the beer. I have heard the Margarita's in Mexico are great but very strong! Also the Grey Goose Lemon Slush and Orange Grand Marnier in France are supposed to be very good. If you are not planning to leave for your trip before the end of the month, I will let you know how our experience goes and if we are able to make it to every country!

PLEASE DO!!! we are not leaving until june!

I can vouch for the grey goose lemon slush- yummy! I'm also addicted to the margaritas. As for suggestions for drinking around the world... I've done it but spent around $90.00 total (including a couple of bottles of water- gotta keep hydrated :thumbsup2 )

My tips for drinking around the world-
  • eat before you begin- otherwise you won't make it to USA
  • drink slowly and enjoy the sights as you stroll from one country to the next
  • share the larger drinks (ex. Margaritas from Mexico are huge and those little slushies from France aren't so little )
  • order 2 SMALL beers... there's nothing worse than buying a large beer to share with your partner, only having to dump it half way through because it's already gotten hot!) This is not the time to share.
  • bank on $10 per drink.
  • drink lots of water! It's soo easy to get dehydrated while in wdw anyways and it only gets worse when you're consuming alcoholic beverages.

Have a great time! :dance3:

I would suggest starting in Mexico and making your way around and ending in Great Britain. In college we always started in Canada but got about 12 beers deep in Great Britain and never made it fully around the world standing. We did get some great stories out of it though.

We have drank around the world quite a few times :rolleyes1 we're somewhat lushes on vacation, and here is my advice for what it's worth. Plan to spend approximately $90-$110 if there are 2 of you. Do not start with beer unless you are only planning on drinking beer....remember the old beer before liquor... yep! Split drinks whenever possible to save $$. Starting in Mexico is the best bet because as someone else mentioned...you can get stuck in the UK! BTW...IMHO....the hard cider mixed with the black currant juice in the UK is wonderful and Irish car bombs are more evil than every Disney Villain put together! If you're beer/wine drinkers, there are several countries that offer beer and or wine flights where you can try smaller portions for $6-$8 per flight. That is a good way to try a few different things and save $$ and it also helps to keep you from  . Make sure you drink plenty of water, I would suggest at least 1/2 bottle of water between stops and eat before you start. If you don't eat before you start, make sure you grab snacks while you're touring. The Grey Goose and Grand Marnier slushes are to die for!! Both of those go well with the crepes which are sold on the cart next door! China is pretty weak for liquor selections so that is a beer stop! The liquor infused teas aren't that great! Beware of sake tasting in Japan! That's almost as dangerous as getting stopped in the UK for a long period of time. Most important....have fun and be wise!

ok i hear you can get passports ?? going on a girls only trip in may & no one thinks we can make it all the way around the world...need the passports as proof....anyone know where we can get them ???

Last time we were in WDW, I was almost successful in drinking around the world. I only missed Canada, and it was because of time. I was banking on everything opening at 11am, and the beer cart in Canada, and the Wine cart in France didn't open until noon. Totally threw my plan out.

I did a eat/drink around the world. We got the last seating at the Rose and Crown that evening, so we had a destination. Honestly, I didn't feel the buzz until I got into the scotch sampler at the Rose and Crown--and I'm usually a two drink girl.

I did--
France--champaigne and cheese plate
Morrorco--wine and something tasty
Japan--plum wine and something tasty
USA--seasonal beer and a funnel cake
Italy--lemonciello!!!!!!! (no food there)
Germany--wine and a pastry/sweet thing
China--liquor tea of some kind and an egg roll sort of thing
Norway--Viking coffee? is that what it's called? and a pastry
Mexico--margarita and no food
Canada--ran out of time...no drinky
UK--at the rose and crown...cider and a scotch sampler

btw, if she likes Sangria, she'll probably like the Plum Wine...and the lemonciello

I'm reading this and realized that I should add that I'm writing after a drink...and something tasty.

I'll give you a negative & positive review:

I didn't like

Japan - Sake
U.K. - Strongbow.

I'd recommend:
Mexico - Margaritas are good.
Germany - Beer is good
Italy - Wine is good

Polynesian - Mixed drinks are very good..although pricey.

You are definitely the same type of "world traveler" as DH & I are. We always start in Mexico and never start with beer. Always have a full belly of food before starting and always, always end up in the UK, our favorite place to end up, especially if Off Kilter is playing! I love Cider (Strongbow is my preference), and I've been told that girls don't do Irish Car Bombs :confused3 I LOVE them! Of course we have to be careful cuz they creep up on ya!:lmao: We have had the Grey Goose and Grand Marnier slushies, we prefer the Grand Marnier's (JMHO);) We always chug the water when we are leaving & before bed, and also take a few Advil's to prevent a morning headache (everyone has their own "remedy").:)

Can't wait to get back there!:woohoo:
