I thought I remembered from my first DCL cruise in 2013, that the drink of the day had a lower price. On our 2015 cruise, I got the drink of the day on embarkation day and signed a check for about $11.
Did I remember wrong, or dud prices just go up?

Every "drink of the day" we have gotten was a discounted price -- like $6 or $7. Even with the tip it shouldn't have come to $11. Did it by chance come in a souvenir glass -- because that does cost extra?

If you get it in the souvenir glass, it's about $11 with tip. If you get it in a regular cup, it's about $5.50 with the auto-gratuity. On embarkation day, the servers walking around with trays of drinks already made up usually have the souvenir cups. I generally bypass those guys and order the drink directly from the bar so I can get it in a regular cup.
