1) Does the drink of the day come in a souvenir glass?

2) Is the drink of the day the same price in the restaurants?

The drink of the day is available in a souvenir glass in some places, mostly outdoors, the drink is always $3.50 but with the souvenir glass it is $6.50. The drink of the day is available WHEREVER they serve alcohol and it is the same price $3.50. That is all we drank on our recent cruise, and there was not even one that wasn't great. Enjoy yourself!!!! (and those drinks!)

We found the drink of the day a great way to contain costs IF we avoided the "special" plasic glass! Only other way to get a "Drink of the Day" cheaper is to BYO in the cabin. Hey, I could be really cheap and bring a couple of old DCL glasses to mix them in! I am that cheap!

I always request the non-souvenir glass because i don't need anymore. The drink is a lot cheaper if you get it this way.

We also specifically requested the regular glasses on our second cruise. I didn't even realize that was an option the first time. A couple glasses make a nice souvenir, but how many do you really need?
My favorite drink was the "Bon Voyage", a combination of Pina Colada and Strawberry Daquiri. It was the drink of the day for the first day of our first & second cruise, but not on the third. Has anyone seen this as a special on any recent cruises?

So does DCL change the souvenir glass everyday like Carnival does? We've got a set of multi-colored hurricanes and a set of mutlt-colored brandy glasses. Am I going to have to 'purchase' :drinking1 a set of DCL glasses now too?

They had the Bon Voyage combo drink on our 4/29 - 5/2 Wonder cruise. We thought all the drinks were tasty, just lacking in the booze department. We collected 6 souvenir glasses (paid for 5, got one free). Our set is complete. My fave was the Konk Cooler on CC, but again, not very potent. We found ourselves doctoring the drinks a couple of times with our own bottle from the room. And yes, the drinks were $3.00 more with the "glass", but for $15 we got a set of 6. The gift shop sold one for $12.00 (real glass), so we feel we got a deal.

A trick I learned with the souvenier glass is that they are refillable. They are larger than a regular drink and when you get a second drink they refill the souvenier glass for the same price as a drink in a regular glass. I bring a bottle of premixed Fridays margueritas with me and make my own drink with the souvenier glass in the room before we go out. When it's empty they refill with whatever drink I want at regular price.

Can you get sodas or non-alcoholic drinks in these souvenir glasses? So if I buy a mixed drink for me and a soda for my DD will they be the same type of souvenir glass? Thanks!

Donna

cruisin mike, that drink is also known as the 'miami vice' so if you see that ever listed as a special it is the same drink.

my daughter loves the bon voyage drink but a cm on the ship told us they don't go by the miami vice name. he said that was carnival's trade name.

They also offer souvenir glasses at Rockin' Bar D on certain nights. I bought a "Thriller" drink on 80's night (don't ask me what was actually in the drink, I just wanted the glass :) ) for around $6.00. These glasses are the same shape as the plastic one except that they are real glass! They also have the DCL logo on the side in the traditional colors. Very good deal and an awesom glass, I think!

Personally, I don't care a hoot about souvenier glasses. In fact, I hate them cluttering up my cabinets.

As for the drink-of-the-day being weak, I've found that you usually get a stronger drink by walking up to the bar yourself (as opposed to taking one pre-made from a tray). Maybe that's just my imagination, but it's an opinion that's been formed over the years -- not just about Disney's cruise ships, but about bars in general.

try the coconut java. excellent drink. if you make friends with Joval and Lourdes (on Magic) at the Goofy Pool bar they will take good care of you on the "little extra" in your drink.

Drink of the Day I found were mostly frozen.
