You guys are seriously having the best time....I wondering how I get a invite on your next trip?!?! LOL!!!

Seriously though, very much enjoying your reports, your happy birthday pics make me smile, you can see what a great time you all are having!!!
All you have to do is say "Sam we are going to Disney" and there is a 99% chance I would go

It seems you had lots of fun!
It was a great trip...I wish I could go back and do it again

A Wild Morning

Today was an animal kingdom morning and everyone's phone was all set to wake us up at 7:15. No one woke up except me and I was expecting to go to the park by myself today. But alas they all woke up and got ready in time before I headed to the bus. But before we left we had to see if any animals decided to grace us with their presence….only birds today

26670491378_db29924f7b.jpg

It was a packed bus to Ak, which we all knew were people planning to run to pandora. This was surprisingly not our plan for the morning. Instead while everyone was at pandora we planned to get the rest of the park done.
On the short bus ride from AKL to AK I overheard a very confused Disneyland AP holder on the fastpass system. She was asking if they had the max pass to purchase like they do at Disneyland, and was surprised to hear that she could have made fastpasses 60 days prior to her vacation. She just expected to pay to get fastpasses for pandora, poor lady was going to have to wait forever now.

Once getting into the park we were only a few that headed right instead of the left. First up, dinosaur.

39646321765_285961e2b0.jpg

Bringing back yet another Dino, we headed off to find us another yeti.

40541555801_88270ba015.jpg

And when the park is dead why not go on it twice in a row?!

40541556621_a1456458e3.jpg

By this time we were all ready for a snack, we didn't want something too big to eat since we had lunch reservations in the near future. They all said pastries or dessert for breakfast, so we headed to the harambe village but cookies weren't what we wanted. So instead me and the boys went with a famous mickey pretzel with cheese sauce. And apparently I was so hungry I didn’t even take a picture of it.
Erin on the other hand decided to go back to the bakery to get a cookie.

39646319085_6fd68bc832.jpg

With a snack in everyones hand we headed near the tables right out in front of the safari.
During our little meal I suggested we do Rafiki’s planet watch because 1) I haven’t done it in forever! 2) It’s something new for Erin and Garrett. 3) it wasn’t melting to death weather so the walking wouldn’t be awful.

39830924994_d0f2e09951.jpg

Our timing was great because we caught the train before it left.

40541552561_3148934874.jpg

40541555611_d3b154db58.jpg

Now I haven’t been here since I was a very small child, I hardly remember it. Honestly the only thing I remembered was the grandmother willow room. What I did forget was the long path, walkway, from the train stop to the main building itself. It was honestly never ending…but we finally made it.

40498940412_c31c0fe6c5.jpg

Once arriving you can head inside for meet and greets, watch CM work on animals, ect. Or you could head left to the petting zoo. Since everyone was heading inside we decided to opt for the petting zoo first.
We were the first guests there, and I was ready to make friends with all the animals. As we headed towards the animals it became a game of “beware of the poop” but honestly watch where you step.

While most of the goats stayed behind the ropes and didn’t want to be friends, there was one who wanted to join our pack. He followed up behind us and just waited for us to pet him. Everyone this is maverick.

40565689541_6b396bf581.jpg

While we all loved Maverick, Garrett’s eyes lit up when he saw the pigs

40565689991_8750955aed.jpg

But honestly I was ready to take this little goat home!

Enjoying your trip report so far. Look forward to seeing how the rest of your trip went.

Becoming Best Friends With Doc

After our time in the petting zoo we decided to check out what was happening inside. The building itself was nothing that I remembered. However rafiki was there waiting for photos as well as doc mcstuffins.
So first up was meet rafiki. We chatted about our morning in AK and how we rode Everest twice. Rafiki is unimpressed with the going backwards part and let us know how he couldn't handle going on it.

The boys were not impressed by the idea of meeting doc. So while they walked around the little area Erin and I headed over to a lonely doc since we were basically the only ones in the building.

40624595461_d834294a48.jpg

Next up was the only thing I remembered. Grandmother willow talking about the rainforest in a dark room. It was basically what I remembered, some nice 90's headphones, a bench to sit on, and the lights go off. Grandmother willow starts talking about the rainforest and the animals and then you hear chain saws in the background and the tearing down of the trees.

40582760562_94ce1c8252.jpg

Overall, I probably wouldn't do this every trip. But if you are interested in it there are probably a good 10 rooms. I also feel like it would be a great spot for a little nap, just close the door and play the show a few times and no one will ever disturb you.
After our lesson about taking care of our rainforests we headed to the other side of the building were we saw them working on a few pelicans. Today they were just going through a few check ups. So nothing all that thrilling.

39914361664_81a9198dc7.jpg

Before we left Doc's photopass and character attendant kept calling us over saying she was said because no one was around to meet. So hello Doc...again. I don't really know who you are because my kids at work are more obsessed with trolls, paw patrol and Moana.

26753127718_5615b1d501.jpg

We did all that we could over at rafikis planet watch so we started to head out. As we passed the gift shop outside we found churro popcorn, out of all places in Disney you can find it at rafikis. Too bad I wanted it last night and not today.
We just missed the train when we got to the station. So we had to wait a few minutes until the next one. Once we made our way back to the main land, I noticed Casey, a girl from my DCP, letting us off the train. It was a very quick, unexpected meeting. Since I thought her program she was just on finished.
Erin saw people with corn and wanted corn. So we waited for her to get her corn on the cob from the stand where we got our pretzels earlier. It was just regular corn…but it was curry corn and the smell made me randomly miss tokyo disney sea and the curry popcorn stand in the Arabian coast.

39914362424_6d7c2469c8.jpg

With Erin a happy child we headed out of the park for the day, Goodbye AK it has been fun.
The nice thing about staying at AKL is the shortest bus ride ever. Once arriving I decided to hop into the gift shop because why not….however what I didn’t know was that the teen behind us getting off the bus was puking in the doorway I walked through not even 20 seconds before. Garrett thought I ducked into the gift shop because of it, but honestly I just wanted to see the merchandise.
We headed back to the room where we hung out for a short while before we headed out for the night. And we were very disappointed to seeing no animals once again

40582762992_753c5898ee.jpg

But by the time Erin and I changed we had one little guy hanging outside our window.

It has been several years since I've been to Rafiki's Planet Watch. I remember they were doing surgery on an animal and that was kind of interesting to watch for a while. Not a must do on every trip but definitely going every couple of years.

I don't remember seeing people walking around with corn at all. Is that something new?

Exactly! Just too see if it changed from what I remembered it being.
Honestly I have no clue, I normally don't get snacks all to much at AK. So maybe they have always been there?! Plus its also at the stand all the way in the back by the safari.

"NEW YORK WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?"

39989121084_3a1b031712.jpg

When we arrived at studios the boys rushed ahead while Erin and I stopped to look at the new gondolas construction.

Ready for a picture perfect night…in a park that is in kind of a sad shape.

26827527478_bdee6d5f55.jpg

Before we headed over to 50s for lunch we decided to head over to RnR.
The sun decided to make an appearance today and I was very glad that I didn’t bundle up like I had originally planned because this morning was on the cooler side.

40624603231_deccc52aaa.jpg

It was a nice walk down sunset boulevard to RnR

39804024925_3ea24c85b0.jpg

40756121111_14439bef68.jpg

Then it was off to 50s for lunch. I love this place, it's themed well, they have great pot roast and if you get yourself the right server it could be a hilarious time.

39804025115_48a0579a8a.jpg

I feel like I go into the meal expecting to much, practically wishing to get in trouble. However once meeting our waiter I had a feeling our time here would not be that "crazy"
On the plus side we did get the cute tv table so that was a plus for Erin's first experience here.
To start I got onion rings and the boys got crab cakes. Honestly you can't go wrong with onions rings. The crab cakes, I could do with out but the boys seemed to like it.

26827526188_25fe2d0da6.jpg

39804031025_5119c7f461.jpg

Onto the main dish. I live for the pot roast and today they weren't playing with how much they gave me.

39804026955_9b1c253b44.jpg

Erin went with the chicken dinner, which honestly is so much chicken but she enjoyed it very much

39804027405_49d60e484a.jpg

Kiss went with the pork chop and seemed to like it

40699520931_0d38f2e1bb.jpg

Garrett went with the platter sampling which included the chicken, pot roast and meatloaf. I almost went with this because it sounded good and gave you a variety of the food however I just went with what I like there. Like I said early, there was a lot of pot roast on my plate today, but the clean plate club sticker was all that I wanted. I was willing to explode in order to get that sticker, which wouldn’t even mean anything to me the next day. Spoiler alert, I ended up being defeated but was ok with that because I probably wouldn’t even get the sticker if I did finish it.
Over all the meals were good, but not much happened in the antics department.

40656675262_842658d48b.jpg

That was until our waiter came over and caught us using our walkie talkie. And if you have ever been here they refer to your table as the state you are from, so as he came over all I could hear was “NEW YORK WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Before I froze and laughed away the fact that we were actually getting in trouble.

40699515961_24d8c6a9d8.jpg

Now me being the rebellious self I can be (at times) pulled out the GoPro because that wouldn’t be considered a walkie talkie.

After a filling lunch it was time to go explode in outer space as we traveled to a galaxy far far away.

We were in MK the same night! We probably passed each other lol! The wait times were kind of crazy that night compared to the year before. I wasn't expecting it to be that busy.

Glad to see Doc in AK- I didn't know that. I'm adding it to my list for my next trip for my niece...she'll be excited!

How funny! I think because it was a few days after marathon weekend so that brought some crowds.
She has a cute little set up and everything.

I will try those onion rings on my next visit!
You can never go wrong with onion rings

What Even Is Star Wars?!

I feel like I haven't been on star tours in forever. But today was just another day of me pretending to know what Star Wars is.

40754025242_b9142e2e2e.jpg

The fastpass line is weird here, because once almost getting to your seating row there is a break where you can decide to stay left or go right. Well everyone with a fp thought they had to stay to the left as was getting backed up I hoped over to the right side where CM were confused why no one was on that side. So I guess in the long run it was good for us.

40796258351_3b7a192ea2.jpg

I don't even know what star tours is anymore. Like what is Star Wars and where are we? I miss Princess Leia because honestly I know none of these knew characters. But with new movies come new videos for this attraction and I was lost.
On the plus side they officially got ride of the annoying ending of R2D2 driving the wrong way and I was very thankful for that.
We had some time to kill before our last fp so that left leaving us with just wandering the park. We found ourselves in the new area of the park leading to the new Star Wars land. And here they have what feels like the streets of america, it may be a super small section but it leaves a little bit of what once was.

40796257031_038e5dbc9d.jpg

Since the area is so small and blocked off because of construction we headed back to center of the park. Erin suggested Indiana Jones and with our luck the show was just about to start. At first it looked like standing room only but once again our luck was with us and we were able to get very close to the front on the side.
As the show began Erin kept saying “doesn’t one actual work here” to one of the guest participants. I kept saying “no” “I have no clue what you are talking about” because I don’t like to ruin it for guests sitting around me.

After the show we headed down sunset boulevard to the hollywood towel hotel. We left Erin at the entrance because she doesn’t like the ride, which honestly is so sad because its honestly the best ride here. It was also nice to have someone to ride with since whenever I’m with Erin I always have to ride it alone.

Once arriving back from the twilight zone we found Erin enjoying a Mickey Bar

The marathon definitely drew a lot of crowds. Even one of our bus drivers said it was one of the busiest marathons he's seen.

You’ve reminded me I want to make a reservation at 50’s. Thanks!

I’m also kind of glad they changed from R2D2. It was getting bland.

Tower of Terror is my favorite ride in all of Disney. My sister hates that ride and I just don't get it. :confused3

Honestly we wanted to eat at sciFi, mostly for their deep fried pickles but we couldn't get a reservation. But I'm glad we went with 50s.

Tower of Terror is the best! But I can see where people come from when they don't like that feeling in their stomach during the drop. I personally love it
