I'm reaching out to people who have done this experience! I've written down all the drinks that are not to be missed around the world showcase, and I cannot wait to do this (I'm especially excited to try the Cantaloopy and Grey Goose slushie!) My question is, how much time should we allow for this adventure? And...I know that Illuminations starts at 9:00, are all the kiosks open until 9, or do they close earlier? I want to be able to walk around the world showcase, and I know it's quite a walk, so I want to give ourselves plenty of time to attempt this (figuring by the end we'll be stumbling around the world...:rotfl2:)

Also...does anyone know, is akershus table only or do they have a bar we can grab a drink from? THANKSS!

I would give yourself a couple of hours. It normally takes anywhere from 30-45mins just to walk around WS, assuming you don't stop to look at anything or buy anything. So just pace yourself and enjoy!:goodvibes

Remember to also get some of the amazing pastries and snacks that the countries have to offer, so that you can have your drinks and remember Illuminations also! Obviously pastries in France, but also breads from Norway, Italy, strudels in Germany, and funnel cake from America! Perhaps too much carbs and fats for me in one day, but picking and choosing from those will make your trip around the world much more enjoyable!

In my opinion this is an All Day event. Even if you do two dirnks an hours with 11 Countries you'll need 5-1/2 hours to finish. I figure that if I start in Mexico at 11am, I can make my 1:10 lunch in Germany. I also have a 7:10pm ADR in the UK, so I'll have 6 hours to drink 5 Countries and just one left before leaving.

What Drinks are on your list? I'm thinking of just doing beers.

IF you do it in a short time frame please have a designated driver, or if using Disney transportation a designated shoulder (to lean on) to see everyone gets back to the room safely!

I did that one year with my mom; she is not a drinker. We split the desserts and drank a lot of water. It took us allllllllll day.;)

I am going in May, and apart from our dedicated Epcot park day, I have blocked a whole day out to Eat/Drink around the world! For my DH and I, this will give us a chance to relax, maybe head to the pool at some point (staying at Boardwalk) to prepare for round two, and will also give him a day to feel like he's having a vacation. He highly stressed that he didn't want to run around every single day, but would like to have some downtime to wander and lounge around as well! I'm looking forward to it immensely...may begin in Mexico with a Margarita to get things started right.

So...it's really all about preference as to the time you dedicate to it!

We do this event every vacation there. We dedicate a day to it but usually don't get started until about 2 pm.

ah cool! We are probably going to stick to everything besides beer, I don't want to mix lol. We wanted to start at 5:00 and make our way around, but given the advice, I think we will start sooner. Are the kiosks open til 9? Where could I find this info?

We've been doing Beers Around the World for years, back then it was mostly just beers that were available, but we always had champagne in France and we have recently added a sakitini in Japan. :drinking1

We generally start in Mexico and then drink beer around but this year, we are starting with the Margarita Flight and working our way around-then the next couple of days we are starting in the middle (Japan we think) with a sake flight-then in a couple of days after that, we are starting in UK with an Irish Whisky/Scotch Flight...

We also got a new EPCOT passport from several guests-I am looking for a monorail/resort DATW passport that is separate from the EPCOT one. Gotta have a goal.

Oh the tangled web we weave...

I'm hoping to do this with my girlfriends this October! The night we're in Epcot it's open until 12AM for EMH.

Will the bars/kiosks be open until 12AM? It will be hard to cram this all in if we're starting at 4PM!

I asked on the moms panel if the kiosks are open til 9 (before illuminations)...no one seems to know on the DIS so far. as far as Extra magic hours, i do not know. Hopefully my question will be answered there and I will post that answer here.

Yum yum! While I have not done this yet, I am looking forward to doing this in October. I'd at least start at 4 I think.

BTW, what is this Cantoloopy you're speaking of...?

All I know is that its in China and I want one! I think it's just vodka and cantelope juice

Yes, what's a Cantaloopy? I've done the "Wine around the World" in Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, and France - it was very fun and quite funny with our group!

Can't wait to go with my best girlfriends and really live it up - we're game to try it all!

What's your list of drinks to try? Curious minds (mainly me) want to know

Oh I have prepared a list of places and drinks to visit!

1. Margarita Kiosk – Mexico
2. Cantoloopy – China [Joy of Tea Stand]
3. Peach Bellini – Italy OR Limoncello – Italy [Tutto Italia]
4. Saketini – Japan
5. Sultan’s Coolata – Morocco, Tangerine Daiquiri – Morocco, Habibi Daiquiri – Morocco, Moroccorita – Morocco [Moroccan Kiosk]
6. Grey Goose Slushie – France OR Grand Marnier (orange slushy) – France [Les Vins des Chefs de France]
7. Welsh Dragon – England [Rose and Crown Pub]

Of course I would have more places to visit, except I'm not looking to spend 150 dollars on drinks hahaha!

The BEST part of drinking around the world is getting to the UK, ordering a yardstick (or 4) of Strongbow Cider, walking over to Canada and dancing like fools to Off Kilter, a GREAT Celtic rock band!!!:banana:

yum! i based those choices off of another thread of good epcot drinks, but i dont remember anyone mentioning the strongbow cider. and i LOVE LOVE LOVE the celtic bands they have. Did I mention that I LOVE celtic bands. yes i do!
