hello again everyone :)

have a question for you...we are of to dlrp on the 28th of june and dd is wanting to take a different dressing up costume for everyday we are there....she has enough and she looks adorable in them so i am happy to let her do this.

however my mum is being a bit of a kill joy and saying that its excessive and she'll look daft.....am i being too indulgent?? :confused3

No not at all. If she loves dressing up then DLP is the right place for it! You will see so so so many little boys and girls dressed up when you go and your DD will have a ball.
So long as your suitcase allows bring one for every day.

Theres a princess make over too which is in the Disneyland Hotel and bookable at reception in DLH. They have a range of options including photographs, make up, hair, tiaras, accessories and dresses. As far as I can remember it ranges from about €60 - €140 but Im sure if you search the DLP board you'll find the posts or maybe a kind Diser with a better memory then me will clarify!

Your Mum is completely wrong!

There are no end of children who dress up at the parks, especially little ::MinnieMo:tinker: or :princess:

My girls have both done days at the parks dressed up and some of our most magical memories are when the girls have come face to face with their real life counterparts. We saw the Aurora performance behind the castle (can't remember what it's called) last year and when Aurora noticed that she and my princess were wearing the same outfit she singled her out of the crowd for waves and kisses and stopped to hug her on the way off stage. Another time, we were watching the parade with the girls wearing Minnie T-shirts and Minnie pointed out the children to Mickey - pointing to their tops and then pointing to herself.

The only caution I would add is that sometimes those hooped skirts aren't the most practical thing to be wearing when you are squeezing into certain rides and you should always remove your tiara before you ride Thunder Mountain:love:

thank you for backing me up :thumbsup2

all my favourite photos from last year are where dd is dressed up...she got some lovely photos and comments last year when dressed as alice (apparantly this was quite rare although i sure with the alice meet and greet this year it'll be more popular!) and she remembers them all.

she look so adorable all dressed up and shes got the costumes so why not was my attitude to it!!!mousekateer i can well imagine meeting a character whilst dressed as them must be magical....especially a princess :lovestruc

dd wants to take her giselle costume....is she ever seen at the parks and do any children dress up as her that youve noticed? :confused3

yes you do see little ones dressed as Giselle :goodvibes - but she is never at DLP, and she won't be.

Definitely let your daughter wear her costumes every day - if my DD had ever been into it that much I would have said yes yes yes :cutie:.

DLPdaft why is that?i assume its because amy adams herself wouldnt be doing it?such a shame....i really like giselle

Hi,
Don't worry your DD will definetly not look silly. i see so many girls and boys dressed up including my dd and ds. I usually go for 5nights/6days and take different ones so they have a couple of changes a day (we usually go back for a break in the afternoon). This trip i'm only going 3night/4days and my dilemma is which ones to take as dd wants to take them all :rotfl2:.

Regarding Giselle being in the park i did ask this Question a while back as dd likes enchanted too and LoodlesNoodles kindly told me that It was because of Amy Adams contract that they could not use her likeness :confused3

That's right - Giselle was originally going to be included as one of the Disney Princesses but when Disney realised they'd have to pay for life-long rights to Amy Adams' image they dropped the idea.

theprincessofpink - take as many dresses for your DD as you have room for!! They grow up so fast and before you know it she'll have outgrown it so make the most of it while you can! I love seeing all the little Princesses wandering around and this time there seemed to be lots of little Woodys too. :goodvibes

thanks for taking the time to respond everyone...were going for 7 days so how many costumes do you think would be too many???lol

on our last trip we were there for eight days and ashleigh jam packed 13 costumes into her little case :rotfl2:

there is no such thing as too much dressing up at dlp. i don't even bring any regular clothes for ash lol

Go for it. DD2 spent every day this week dressed up and wanted to dress up for nursery this morning too! Lol! She got loads of extra attention but as it was very hot the dresses became really uncomfortable for her by lunchtime. So we changed her into minnie tshirts and shorts in the afternoon.
