I'm planning on making dressing for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I'm actually using just the dressing portion of another recipe I have (Savory Pork Roast with Apple Dressing). The dressing is based on boxed stuffing mix, but you add juice, butter, finely chopped apples, celery, and onions to it. (It's totally amazing in the original recipe, which is why I'd like to make it on its own tomorrow
).
My question is: The original recipe is supposed to be cooked, covered, at 350 for an hour and a half and then uncovered for an extra 15-30 minutes. But, that's with a pork roast on top. For tomorrow, I'm planning to double the amount of stuffing (but no pork roast). Do I still cook it for the same amount of time? The boxes of stuffing are absolutely no help - they say to add water and microwave for 5 minutes.
Since I don't care for regular dressing (and this is pretty much the only recipe I've found where I enjoy eating it), I'd really like to not screw it up.
