Dress Fitting

Went for the 2nd fitting on my dress yesterday. As soon as I put it on the seamstress said "you've lost weight". I knew that I had lost about 10 lbs, but it really made a big difference in my dress. Originally, we were going to take the zipper out and do a lace-up back so that I would have a little extra room at the top. Now, she thinks she can probably put the zipper back in and I should be fine. She said that if we let it as a lace-up, I will probably have to have it taken in on the sides.

So, she's not going to touch the top again until next month. She's going to finish the hem and we'll see how much I lose by next month. She said then I'm not allowed to lose any more until after our renewal! LOL

congrats, bet it gives you that bit of extra encoragement to keep going aswell! Well done!

So, I'm guessing you are wearing your original dress for the renewal? I wouldn't dare do that, as my dress was HORRIBLE! For some insane reason, I thought I would look great in a Princess Diana-wannabe dress, with those huge poofy sleeves and a tremendously long train. Of course, I was planning my wedding when she got married. I think it's best to leave that one in the keepsake box! I've chosen a Mon Cheri sheath gown for this time around. Good luck with yours! ~Ev :)

Congrats that is great! You're way ahead of schedule compared to me... I just got my dress a few days ago (but I got the one they had at the store so I don't need to special order it..) I had been losing weight steadily for the past 9 months until 3 weeks ago, when I got so stressed I finally fell off the wagon.. I hadn't cheated at all for 9 months straight but I fall off the wagon 2 months before my wedding, that is so typical of me.. I ended up gaining back 10 pounds out of the 85 I lost...

But I'm back on track this week, but it was not good timing I can tell you!!! :( When I tried on dresses in January I was fitting into 14W's, but this time I went with a 16W.. 10 pounds makes a huge difference in dress sizes apparently!!

I'm a little worried about when to get it altered though - as I do plan on losing right up until the last minute.. Hopefully the alteration lady will be able to help... :scratchin

i just picked up my dress from its last alteration & it looks great! the one thing im worried about though is if i lose any more weight in the next 2 & 1/2 weeks (which i hope i do for my cheeks sake) but it will be loose then. ill try posting a picture later.

18 days until were married at wdw! :bride: :groom:

Well done that must have been such a fab feeling. I'm funding good old Weight Watchers myself at the moment. I've lost 31 pounds but it's taken me forever. I've set my target now and I have 10lbs to go. Although if I make it before the wedding I'll probably just keep going. We want to do Discovery Cove whilst we are in Orlando and the thought of a wetsuit freaks me out.

Keep up the excellent work.

No, I bought a new dress for our renewal.

I, too, had the big puffy dress for our original wedding. Yard and yards of white satin in Florida in May??--didn't really want to go there at all!! So, that dress is still sitting in the dry cleaners preservation box in my mother-in-law's closet! My new dress is still "more dress" than I actually wanted, but when I put it on, I loved the way it fit and since I bought it off the rack, the owner gave me a pretty good deal on it.

What have you been doing to lose? I can't get any more off of me!

I have really been watching what I eat. I haven't been exercising and I know I should be because it would really help with toning up--now that I have some extra skin! LOL I'm going to try to really work on my upper arms for the next month so that they don't look so chubby sticking out of my halter-neck gown. Also, it is tax season for me and that always brings lots of stress! :lmao:

Your dress is very pretty, you are going to look beautiful! Best Wishes :goodvibes

Beautiful dress and congrats on losing the weight! I too have an upper arm issue ;) Does anyone know what exercises are good for losing some of the upper arm chubbiness?
