Dress code for signature restaurants?

Can anybody help me with a vague memory I have? It seems like I read (maybe years ago) that there is now a dress code for signature restaurants at Disney--nothing too fancy...I think maybe I remember that my husband would have to wear pants rather than shorts.

We are finally dining at the California Grill this year--I have wanted to for years, but waited until my kids were old enough that I can be fairly certain that their behavior won't disrupt other diners.

Now I can't seem to find anything about a dress code--could anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

The dress code is really, really casual. No swimwear/cover-ups, torn clothing, tank tops, offensive logos, etc. Even tee shirts and jeans are allowed, though I personally don't go that casual for our nicer dinners.

Do not dress like a slob.

Disney does inform you over-and-over about the dress code at CA Grill, but it's very relaxed. For instance, I listened to the Cast Members and wore a jacket, but found myself being the only person wearing one who did not work at CA Grill. Further, the grown man wearing a hockey jersey was not turned away. And the child who arrived in his pajamas and was sleeping on the floor with his pillow did not seem out-of-place at Disney. Yes, this was the same meal at CA Grill......

The only place with a real dress code is Victoria & Albert - they do require a jacket for gentlemen.

So again, just about anything other than cut-off shorts or overly exposing ripped jeans are fine for men. My dad wears a polo shirt with 'smart' shorts. The no sandal rule for women is absurd. If you're wearing a pretty dress with sandals, you'll be seated. I think the policy is there to discourage flip-flops.

In other words, Disney is trying to encourage a "proper" dinner environment, but it's still Disney and Mickey Mouse t-shirts (etc.) are wholly appropriate.

1) ALLEGEDLY and OFFICIALLY it is "business casual".
2) But, that went by the wayside a long time ago.
3) Now, you can wear almost anything, as the code is not enforced.
4) But, I prefer neat shorts and collared shirts.

NOTE:
Yes, it says no muscle-shirts, etc, but folks do wear them.
It is shame that Sig eateries have downgraded so much.

When we went to California Grill two years ago, dh wore khakis and a dress shirt, I wore black dress pants, and a nice blouse, and we both felt over dressed. Some people were dressed up, and some were in shorts and t-shirts. I don't think they are too strict on dress codes anywhere but VA.

Thanks for all the info everybody. I was thinking collared shirts for my husband and son, but I know they would be happier in khaki shorts than khaki pants. My daughter and I will just wear summer dresses, as we both like to wear them. Sounds like we will make the cut!

The signatures don't require dressing up really nice in general, but I know that when we ate at Cali Grill last year, most people were dressed up a bit nicer - definitely not casual.

I've seen people wear dress shorts in the signatures. My DH doesn't but he wears jeans & a polo. I usually wear slacks or capri's and a nice top. If its the signatures in the parks (brown derby & now le cellier) then you can wear anything you would wear into the parks.
