We wanted to include a Signature restaurant in our plans for our upcoming trip in November and have settled on Narcoossee’s. Our plans are for an early dinner (hoping to get 5:30). Then, we are heading for the MK. Our dilemma is how do we dress appropriately for dinner, but also comfortably enough for an evening in the park? We will be using the Disney transportation system – so we can’t be carrying extra clothes around. I am particularly concerned about footwear. How will most people be dressed there? This is what the Disney website suggests for attire:

Guests are asked to adhere to a business casual dress code at this Signature Dining experience. Dressier attire is also welcome. Please explore the minimum dress code requirements:

Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Jackets are optional.

Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition.

Not permitted in the dining room are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

Thanks.

We were dressed up because we ate there for our 25th Anniversary. My husband wore a light blue linen button down short-sleeved shirt and white linen pants with boat shoes. I wore a long light blue dress with dress shoes.

Other diners followed the dress code. Men had on button-down shirts, collared polo shirts, linen pants, khaki pants & shorts, Bermuda shorts, boat shoes. Women wore sundresses, pant suits, Capri pants with blouses, bejeweled flip flops, flats.

We didn't see any sneakers, t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, or short shorts.

If you can handle walking in the park wearing flip flops, Yellow Box makes beautiful dressy flip flops with jewels.

If it's warm, I just wear a dress (nothing fancy, just a cute dress) and I wear flats - not regular gym shoes, but definitely tie shoes. I don't know how to describe, so I posted a picture of something like I'm talking about. Carry a sweater if it's cool and I can wear to dinner then walk around a park! (oh my god, sorry so big)

We’re going in a few weeks, similar plan with a 5.10 ADR. DH will be wearing knees length dress shorts and a short sleeve collared shirt, with boat shoes. DD & I will probably both wear a frock with sandles. We don’t have any attractions planned for the night where you need shorts, though will probably wear dance shorts underneath just in case.

We've eaten there a several times. My DH generally wears Khaki shorts with a Hawaiian shirt and I usually wear a knit summer dress. Comfortable enough to go to a park after dinner, but a little dressier than regular park clothes.

Last August we had dinner at Narcoosee's... late, so we could see the fireworks. Although we went back to our room before dinner to "dress," I didn't dress up. I wore a dressy tee-shirt (boatneck with open lacework around the neckline/shoulders) and a pair of capris... and probably sandals, but definitely park-sandals, not dressy sandals. No problems at all.

We were just there a few weeks ago. DH and DS11 wore khaki shorts and polo shirts. My DH wore slip-on sneaker/shoes and DS11 wore his sneakers. I wore a cotton sundress and comfy sandals. As others have said, it was just slightly nicer than typical park attire and still very comfortable.

Go in what you feel comfortable in. If you are going to the parks after, make sure you are comfortable there as well. I wear a skort or shorts my son wears short and a t-shirt. My husband wears shorts and a button up because that is typically what he wears. I don't bring anything other than my flip flops. That is all I wear at the parks. They aren't the $5 ones but they are flip flops nonetheless. If we are going to the parks after, that's what I will be wearing.

I love Clark's sandals. This year they're coming out with a much cuter collection than the previous years. If you want to add some height, I really like my Ugg "flatform". Don't worry about the platform part. Last summer I walked around the parks with them for five days and my feet felt fine.

I'm really glad you posted this. I'll be coming from 8 hours in MK, and I will have to be wearing my tennis shoes. I never wear a dress to a park. I was so excited about trying this restaurant, but I'll have to decide if I will fill comfortable in my park clothes.

I wore seersucker shorts and a polo shirt with white canvas shoes the last time we went. My wife wore a summer dress.

I didn't notice anyone to be particularly dressed up there.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions! Not sure what we will do. Half of our group (we are six people) is on board. Half says - no way! I would not be comfortable wearing a dress to MK - maybe Epcot where there are fewer rides - but not MK. And, I have problems with my feet and if we are going to be out for a long period of time, I generally stick with sneakers. My niece and her family went to dinner at BOG in January in jeans and t-shirts and she said most people were dressed that way. She didn't even know there was a dress code until I asked her about it! Are things more relaxed at signature restaurants in the parks?

I definitely don't think you need to dress up for BOG. However, I'm in the minority when I say that I don't typically dress up for any signature that we go to. Including ones that are not in parks. We go to the parks after dinner. I'm not wearing a skirt/dress to the parks. My son, doesn't really have dress up clothes. He wears cargo type shorts and plain t-shirts with nothing on them. And he has gym shoes and boots. I'm not going to get him a special pair of shoes to wear for one or two dinners. Some people say they take extra clothes and keep them in a locker. That might be an option for you. But if you wear sneakers, then wear them. It's your dinner and your vacation. Vacation the way you want to. The way someone dresses does not affect my dinner at all. I wish more people were concerned with their screaming children than making sure that they wear dressy clothes to a signature restaurant . That's just my opinion and the screaming kid part has nothing to do with anyone who has posted on this. It's just an observation.

We have never eaten there. But of all the places we have. The ones in the parks, park attire seems to be the norm. Folks just wear what they would wear in the parks. Shorts and short sleeve shirts is what i see 99.9% of the time. We ate at La Cellier. In 2016. Just had on normal park attire. No issues. I don’t think at least in the parks. Any dress code is enforced much. Unless you have some profanity on a shirt or something.

You can always bring a bag/ backpack to the MK with clothes for dinner. You can store it in a locker during the day. You can freshen up and change in the Ladies Room. We don’t get “ dressed up”, but I would not be comfortable in the clothes I had just spent 8 hours in the MK in.

just about anything goes. Personally, I will wear kahkis and a shirt with a collar. But you will see just about anything there.

The first time we ate at Narcoossee's, I had the whole family dress according to the dress code suggestions. There were about 4 tables dressed in business casual like us. The rest of the diners were in park attire-flip flops, t-shirts, matching family t-shirts, sneakers,e My family wasn't happy that I made them change out of park clothes. Wear what you will wear to the park. Narcoossee's is more casual than other signatures from what I have seen.

If going to a park after a signature there are lots of ways to honor the dress code and still be comfortable. In my opinion, dress shorts for women are really just a little longer (Bermuda style). I would not be comfortable wearing chunky, work-out type tennis shoes. But, there are lots of options of comfortable walking shoes that don't scream work-out shoes. And, I would not wear a typical t-shirt for dinner. Actually, I rarely, if ever, wear the men's type t-shirt with the rounded neck and thicker cotton. In general, I think they are so unflattering on women. (sorry, just my opinion) even if working around the house. Women have so many choices regarding shirts. For example, a simple black/white V-neck t shirt can look nice, even more so, with a cute costume jewelry. For women, maybe just put on a little more make-up if you wear make-up or style your hair a little more if you are not going to wear dressier clothes.

I think men have less choices than women but it is just as easy to put a polo style shirt on as it is to wear a t-shirt. If the guys want to wear t-shirts, try just a plain color and hopefully clean. And, maybe a little longer shorts. I think men can get away with more casual shoes, even typical tennis shoes, if they have a polo style shirt.

Personally, I think it makes dinner a little more special to spend a few extra minutes getting ready for a nice dinner. But, in the end, Disney is really lax with their dress code at signatures. Wear what makes you comfortable and enjoy.

We always follow the dress code when we eat at the non park signatures, but here’s the thing.... we don’t think the dress code is that “dressy”.
