Dress Code for Narcoossees..Will we be Overdresssed?

We have a ADR for Narcoosies to celebrate my 40th. Its a early dinner reservation so the kids can handle it. (5:30 or so).

I went out and bought myself a little black cocktail dress..My DH will be wearing dress slacks, shirt and tie and the girls will be in dresses.

Now I'm wondering whether we will be overdressed?

We went last September and everyone in the restaurant was dressed nice. I had a 12 year old with me who wore a button down dress shirt and nice slacks. He was not happy at first, but when we got to Narcoossee's he was glad. I wore dress slacks and a nice blouse. We would have looked out of place in shorts. Have a great dinner!

I say wear whatever you want but I dont see anyone dressed up for dinner at Cali Grill, Jiko, BlueZoo, Il Mulino or Flying Fish..they are all in park attire and not one person has been turned away

which was really upsetting at the Cali Grill a few years back. there were people with cut-offs (shirts and pants) in there. I thought that was too much. Especially since they are so snooty on the second floor podium :scared1:

you may be in the minority.
loads of folks at all the sig restaurants seem to be in tourist theme park attire.

:goodvibes

most of us are not used to that heat and humidity being so intense and therefore just want to be comfortable.

Not overdressed at all! In fact I applaud you for actually getting dressed up. :) I get flamed every time for it but I'm of the mindset that this is a signature restaurant. I don't care how lenient Disney gets to please customers but tee-shirts and flip flops should not be allowed. I wore a dress to Citricos and saw many other guests dressed up as well. Enjoy your meal!

This was not our experience last month at Flying Fish or Narcoossees. I felt like 90% or more of the patrons were "business casual" or dressier. Maybe it just depends on the night or time of night. I would have been very uncomfortable in park attire.

My dad wore a collared shirt, slacks, and a jacket.

I wore a black dress.

Mom wore black dress pants and a nice top and jacket.

We weren't overdressed, but we were certainly dressed up. We like dressing well though, and do so even at home.

Have fun! Narcoosee's is an amazing restaurant. One of my absolute faves.

That is untrue. Certainly there are always people dressed nicely at any of the signatures and I personally have seen people turned away at Flying Fish for not following the very simple dress code.

Which is SO lenient that it's hard to imagine anyone not being able to follow it. There are very few items of clothing that are on the "not permitted in the dining room" list.
Absent torn clothes, tank tops on men or a bathing suit, almost anything else will get you in. And that includes t-shirts, cargo shorts
and flip-flops. All of which we regulary see when we dine at the Signature restaurants...

As I recall, the dress code also requires no ball caps. You can bring them in, but don't wear them. ;)

Based on my general recollection over many years dining at Signature restaurants, I'd say that about 75% of folks are in "business casual" (collared polo shirt, dress shorts or slacks, blouse or sweater for the ladies).
20% are in shorts and t-shirts ala park attire. And about 5% are "dressed up"-(dress on the ladies, dress shirt on the men).
Only rarely do we see a man in a jacket and tie.
Keeping in mind that we're at Disney in May and Sept/Oct each year--so in "colder" months it may be a bit different.

You are correct. It was for some very ripped jeans on a young lady. Not at all appropriate even in the parks. IMO.

I have seen them ask guys to remove their hats also.

One of our favorite restaurants!! We do "dress up" for dinner when we can at WDW. You will not feel out of place at all. As others have said there will be people in ALL types of attire. Most times I don't even notice, we are having such a good time. You have to remember that people are coming from the parks and not everyone can go back to their resort and change, nor do some people even want to. Heck, my family went to the Capital Grille not long ago and saw people REALLY underdressed. Now that to me is a no-no, but at Disney at most places, anything goes!!

Enjoy The Magic!!
