Hi All,
My dh and I will be dining at JIKO for the first time on our trip next week. We are calling it a belated Valentine's Day dinner:lovestruc I was just wondering if anyone was aware of the dress code at the restaurant. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that they had attire requirements. I was planning on wearing a sundress but it is sleeveless and I wasn't sure if this was allowed. Also, I need ideas for what to pack for my husband. Thanks!

It's resort or business casual, so your sundress will be fine. However if you're like me and get cold in restaurants, you may want a wrap or sweater, just in case. FWIW I'm usually in capri pants, cute strappy sandals and a nice blouse.

If you're wearing something you'd feel comfortable in at a nice restaurant, you'll be fine. Disney just doesn't want raggedy clothes or swim suits etc. in their nice restaurants.

Disney doesn't care what you wear as long as it's clean and relatively reasonable. I mean, a clean t-shirt and gym shorts are OK as long as you've got the money. Sorry to all those who want Disney to actually have standards, but this IS the way it is.

Yes they have a code but it's really just a safeguard so they can haul you out if you act up or something.

(BTW, I was at Jiko three weeks ago and actually saw a tee shirt and gym shorts).

We're planning on going to Jiko after our Animal Kingdom day. I always wear leggings with kind of flowy tops so my plan is to tidy up in the bathroom (brush my hair, put on some lip gloss, that kind of thing) and throw a skirt on over my leggings. Ta-da! Disney dress-casual!

After reading what a lot of people have witnessed at Signatures I'm not worried about it anymore. Have a great meal!

No cut-offs, torn clothing, tank tops, swimsuits or cover-ups. That's about it for the requirements.

Although honestly, most people were more dressed up than that--I didn't see any T-shirts or jean shorts, most people wore nice-ish shirts and dress shorts or pants or a skirt. I wore a sleeveless sweater and knee-length skirt (carried it around in my bag all day and changed in the bathroom) and sandals. DH wore a polo shirt, khaki shorts, and tennis shoes.

Actually I did see a couple trying to check in just ahead of me, turned away at Jikos a couple years ago.:rotfl: They had both obviously just came from the pool. He was wearing a pair of flowered board shorts, t shirt, and flip flops. She has on flip flops, a very short, sheer lawn 'sundress', with wet hair and a floral bikini under the so called 'sundress'. Yeah, she tried to insist that her sheer white coverup was really a "sundress".:rotfl: The fact that it had damp patches on it and that you could see completely thorough it, kinda of defeated her argument though.:rotfl: They didn't say a word about his wet board shorts though. lol

OP: you should be fine. I was wearing a long sleeveless sundress (not a micromini and not completely sheer like hers:rotfl:) and I was fine.

Thanks for all the responses! I'm so excited about this meal. I hope it lives up to my expectations! :goodvibes

Yep, my boyfriend always says "money talks" when he hears about any sort of dress code :rotfl:

Your sundress sounds great.
DH and DS always wear dress khaki shorts, a collared sport shirt and dress sandals.
Have a Great dinner
