Dress alteration??

Okay, so I found my dress but I'm not sure what to do. My original plan was to wait to order it but I found it on ebay for only $225, which is like half price. It is my current size, but I just started a diet/exercise program and I still have 10 months until the wedding. They told me it can be altered to a size 2 but I don't know if I should trust them or not. The dress does not have a lot of beadwork, but it is strapless. What do you think. As long as you have a good, competent seamstress, any dress can be altered down at least a couple sizes. I took a look at your dress, and judging from the style and beading, it should not be an issue at all. I'm a consultant at a bridal salon, and we had a young lady who bought a sample gown that was a size 12 even though she measured a size 4, because her wedding was only a month away. And once the dress was altered, you would never have known that it was ever anything but a size 4! So I wouldn't be too worried. It sounds like a great deal, and if you're sure it's The One, I say go for it!

I just had to exact same situation. I found my perfect dream dress on ebay for an insane price of $250. Even though its 18 months out, I just had to snatch it up. Its a bridal sz 12, and I'm a bridal sz 10 right now, hoping to lose 10-15 before the wedding, which means down another size or so. And my dress has tons of beadwork on the bodice (which means *expensive* lol), but if it is THE dress and you just know it...go for it. It will be worth it in the end! It can always be tailored down to your size...now if we were to go up a few sizes..then we'd be in trouble lol.
