We've booked some nights through Dreams Unlimited for a stay prior to starting our stay at OKW and I have sent them two e-mails with some questions and also asking for quotes on another resort and have received no response. Does anyone have a telephone number for Dreams Unlimited? I'm really disappointed at the way they handle things. Especially since they are listed on the Disboards, I trusted I would get good service. I have been waiting since 1/14/04 for a reply and then send a second e-mail and still no reply. And yes I used the e-mail that they gave me for any questions. Hopefully, this is a fluke and not a common occurrence with them.

I am sure that this is just a fluke, I am using them for our trip in June and have had no problems.
I checked the home page and went into the Dreams FAQ, there is a number there to call 888-374-0494
Try that, hopefully it will help

Thank you for the response. I will call them. I agree, this is probably a fluke.

I don't think it's a fluke. I just used DU to book my trip I have planned for October, and I have found them to be very slow to respond.

After speaking to the agent I had been assigned, I sent him a complete reservation request; the names, addresses and ages of all parties, the dates we needed, our resort of choice and our AAA number. After e-mails from me basically bugging him about the status of my ressies, I finally got a confirmation and request for deposit 7 days later. 7 days! I find this unacceptable.

He (the agent) has never once responded to my e-mails without me first having to send another one two days later. I don't think 48 hours in an unreasonable period of time to expect a business to get back to you.

I have much more to plan for my trip - air travel, rental car, PSs, WDW tix, show tix, etc. - and I plan on doing it myself. My dealings with Dreams Unlimited have been like pulling teeth.

I know many people here on the DIS have been very happy with DU, which is why I gave them a try. I think I just got an agent who is overwhelmed. Perhaps you can ask here on the boards for an agent they recommend?

Good luck to you!

Nicole

I emailed them twice regarding reservations and never got a response! After waiting two weeks, I went with another TA and had my rooms, etc., confirmed within 24 hours. They lost out on 8 nights (AKL and YC) by not responding to me. :(

i have to agree. i filled out the cruise questionnere for a quote and have yet to hear back. i have a quote from DCL and another travel agency and i wanted to compare. the clock is ticking........

Try Mouseearvacations.com - My agent is Tim and he is awesome. I, too, have been unhappy with "certain other" online travel agencies in the past - especially about response time, but I can recommend Tim without hesitation!!! Good Luck!!!!

:p I have usesd DU 3 or 4 times and always have have great results. Michelle did such a wonderful job the first time I used DU, I now request her. She returns my emails in a matter of HOURS! She also watches for rates changes and codes and has saved me alot of $. She sends me an email when she is going to be gone on a trip of her own and gives me a contact for that period of time. I have had no problems what so ever.

I am in the process of booking with Dreams Unlimited and have found them to be extremely helpful. My agent is Merrie and she has answered all my questions (and there has been a LOT) within a few hours.

I too filled a request form for a reservation and was ready to book with Du based on the boards good comments. But it has now been 6 days and no response so they lost my business. I will continue to do it all myself.

I used DU last year to book our 8 night stay in August. Beth was my assigned travel agent and she was wonderful! I never had to wait more than a few hours for a response to any of my questions and she booked all of my PS's for me too! She provided all sorts of information about the parks and even helped "critique" my itinerary.

Unfortunately, I did not have as good of luck this year with DU. I requested a quote for a Land & Sea vacation at the end of December. After 2 full weeks, I still hadn't received a quote, so I e-mailed them again. After another week, I still hadn't heard back so I booked the package with All Seasons Travel instead. About 3 days after that, I FINALLY got a response from DU stating that all the rooms in the category I had requested had already been taken for the week we wanted to go. The e-mail went on to state that I could fill out another request if I wanted to get a quote on a different category of room. I didn't bother since I already had what I wanted booked through All Seasons.

I thought that it might just be due to the fact that they were really backlogged during the Christmas holidays, but it sounds like others are having the same problem that I did. :(

I booked our upcoming vacation with DU. Our agent, Carole, has been a dear! She has answered emails promptly and handled my many requests and changes. It's truly been a pleasure working with her...and I would use her again! I am sorry for the bad experiences some have had, but I wanted to put in my vote of confidence :D

I've booked with DU twice. I've had Misti and Sue-Ellen as agents. Both are fantastic and very professional.

Tigger7570, It is my understanding that DU not only is "listed on the Disboards", but they pretty much *are* the Disboards. I believe DU is Pete's company.

I feel for those of you who have had bad experiences with DU. I do recommend DU often, but I have had good experiences and base my recommendations on my personal experience.

Is their any chance that recent server problems/conversions could have resulted in email problems?

I have used DU many times and have always been very pleased with their service (most recently Oct/Nov). I have recommended them to friends who have also used them and been pleased. However, this is not a perfect world and if folks are having difficulties with their service, those issues should be brought to their attention and addressed. I am sure that the folks at DU want nothing but happy customers (past, present, & future).

The following was taken directly from the Dreams Unlimited Travel website (click here):

Q - It's been over 24 hours since I submitted my request, what should I do?

A - If you have been waiting 24 hours or more since you first submitted your request to Dreams, we suggest you write to us at reservations@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com so that we can investigate the status of your reservation. Please include the reservation ID number assigned to you when you first submitted your request so that we can research it more efficiently.

I hope that helps.

Does anyone else think it's odd that no one from DU has responded to this thread? I mean usually when someone asks about DU in a thread someone from DU responds. It does not sound like this is a fluke since so many are coming forward with the same problem.

Hi All

I apologize if anyone is waiting an excessively long period of time to get a quote and/or answer from Dreams Unlimited. I would be happy to look in to your concerns personally - please write to me at john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

I would also like to let you know that we have some challenges lately getting quotes/information out to potential clients with America Online email accounts. It appears that due to some technical issues, any email we send that contains a 'link' back to our website to an AOL email address, it is being rejected by AOL's email servers before it makes it through.

We have tried to catch these as they happen and resend without a link, but I am sure we are missing some.

We have also been in contact with the technical folks at AOL to see if we can get this issues resolved.

I'm not saying that this is the case for anyone here, as I do not know what your email account is by your DIS name - but it may be the cause of delays in receving a quote.

Thanks for listening.

John

OK, that's a little freaky. Basically as I was typing that no one from DU had responded, WebmasterJohn was doing just that.

They "are" the DIS boards. If you are having a problem contacting them it is indeed a fluke. If there's ever any question/problem, I would phone them instead of e-mailing to be sure that all is well.

Just a clarification. The ownership of Dreams Unlimited Travel is seperate from the ownership of the DIS/Boards. I own the DIS/Boards (Werner Technologies), and I am a part owner in Dreams. They are seperate companies, seperate books, seperate employees, etc. In all honesty, Dreams pays the same amount of money to advertise here as any other advertiser would. I just want to make sure that everyone is clear that while there is a connection between the two companies, they are not "the same".

Thanks,
Pete
