Has anyone had great luck using Dreams Unlimited Travel Agency? I am thinking about using them for our upcoming trip but I am nervous to "give over control" to a travel agency. BUT it would be nice to get some help since I am planning a trip for 20 people.

Are they able to get all the discounts applied to the reservations faster (or with the same speed) as those on this message board?

How many people here book their own trip and how many people here use travel agents? Just curious.

Thanks!

Is WinoTracey still with Dreams Unlimited? If so, she was a very lovely lady who I cruised the Med with and would trust her with travel arrangements.

BTW< Tracey I just scrapped a page with you, SweetSue Peter and Jen! Hey!

I book my own trips, because we own DVC. However, when we went on our cruise we used Tracy. We were part of the podcast cruise, and she did a fabulous job.

Dreams is one of the top, if not the top Disney travel agency there is.

I have used them and certainly have no issues with them. Since you are on the podcast board I am assuming you listen to the Podcast. The officers of DU are Pete and John, everyone else on the show works for Dreams and finally at least 500 of us listeners trust Dreams as they are the travel agency handling the podcast cruise next year.

You will have NO issues using Dreams

I have used Dreams numerous times and love giving them my business for all of the things they give to us (podcast, boards, prizes, etc.) I think that is the least I can do. Mindy is great.. she got back to me right away and kept on top of me when I lagged behind. I have also spoken with Tracey and booked with someone else (don't remember her name) They are 100% professional and will find discounts you may not even know exist. I am trying to get a family reunion for about 50 people in 2011 and will 100% use them!!

BTW: You are not giving everything up.. you can book your own dining, tours and special events on your own if you choose

PS.. Welcome to the Podacst board!! Stick around you will make lots of friends here!!!

I use Dreams and won't use anyone else. Mine is Cathy Lord but Tracy, Mindy, and Kathy can all help you. They know before the forums and ::yes:: they keep track of everything. John said once on the podcast that Dreams agents have competitions to see who can save the most money. :thumbsup2

When ever I've sent in a request, I've received a response with an hour or two. The first time was the Wed. before Thanksgiving in the late afternoon. I wasn't expecting a response until Monday. Cathy emailed me right away. She apologized for taking too long because she was cooking for the next day's feast. I've been blown away by Cathy everytime. She even puts up with my backseat "planning".

You can just have them make your room only and do everything else or put it all in their care.

Dreams is awesome. I recommend them to everyone who says they are thinking about going to Disney. Tracy has helped me plan my cruise and my stay at the WL. I can't say enough about how helpful she is. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and wonderful response! I am definitely going to use Dreams Unlimited! Now I need to wait until I can book a 2010 package since the prices haven't come out yet!

I am so happy to have found you all!

Thanks again! :flower3:

Hi
I booked our 10/2009 trip with Dreams our agent is SueEllen and she has been great. You will not have a worry if you work with them.

Don't think of it as giving control over to a travel agent. Think of it more as a friend helping you plan your Disney trip.

For WDW, we are DVC members and plan our own trips as a result. I can speak to Dreams for cruises, however. We have used Dreams for most of our cruises and used AAA for a few, as well. Dreams wins, hands down. I had to educate my AAA TA on DCL just for basic reservation information, while Dreams knows all Disney/DCL. Simply, they know whats up!:goodvibes I recommend them all the time for our friends that plan any Disney vacation.

It is nice to give up some of your planning to a experienced Dreams TA...let them do your ADRs, etc, especially with your party size!

you can't go wrong. they know their stuff. Yes we are DVC members but we have booked 2 cruises and when we need an extra night or several we will go through them. The DVC points on the weekends are high so we will go through dreams for a day or two extra.

They are very quick with the answers

John

I have never used a travel agent for a Disney trip and I have booked over 40.

I am using Dreams for a December trip and a 2010 Disney Cruise. My agent is Tracy and so far I have been very impressed.

Since you have a large group, I think it wouls be the perfect time to give Dreams a try. Let one of the agents at Dreams reply to all of your co-travelers questions. You will still have pleanty of control, just less hassle.

My agent for the last 3 trips has been Barbara Wright and she is awesome!! Highly recommend Dreams :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm a control freak too, and I still did a lot of my own planning but it was nice to have Dreams do the booking and then be there for any help I still needed (plus, all the great advice they give)

I have never used Dreams as we are DVC, but would in a heartbeat. Great people.

i've used them going on 3x now and have always been pleased. Beth is handling our trip for 14 of us in December for 10 nights. She applies whatever discounts she finds before we even asked. And they are patient about putting up with those of us that dislike giving up control (I am one of those too!). :rotfl::goodvibes We've had nothing but great experiences and I highly recommend their services.

We now are fortunate to be able to go to Disney at least once and sometimes 2-3x a year. I used to book myself and did enjoy it. But after discovering the boards and hearing about DU- I tried them several years ago and would not bother doing it myself anymore. It is easy- no obligation quotes- they have booked all my ADR's. I shouldn't use the word "they" my agent is Rhonda-and she is a delight. She keeps up on discounts and just applies for them and lets me know all the money I saved. We even correspond about other things not just travel arrangements. I feel she is now another "Florida friend" I have never met but feel close too.

I had used Dreams for 8 years until we bought into DVC last December. Our agent was Cathy Miller and she was the best!!! :thumbsup2

I kid you not one of the reasons we didn't buy into DVC sooner was because of Dreams and Cathy. I had a hard time e-mailing her to say good-bye :sad1: and to thank her for 8 years of helping with all my trips and some of those years we went to Disney twice.

You have nothing to worry about with Dreams. They are a unique travel company that deals only with Disney. You are in good hands!!! :thumbsup2

As far as dealing with Dreams now Tracy is currently handling my cruise for next year with the podcast team. So I will continue to use them for cruises, I wouldn't trust anyone else!!!
