Are they as good as everyone says?
We're looking to change or ressies and thought of them first.

We have booked 3 cruises with Dreams and have been extremely satisfied with the service they provide.

They're great. They are incredibly responsible, they have all the answers, and they are calming and reassuring when you're stressing a reservation. I definitely recommend them.

They're awesome. We've booked three cruises through them so far, and on the last in March and the one coming up in December, they initiated refunds on our behalf because of Florida resident rates kicking in. Our March cruise was a group rate through Dreams and they left a really lovely keepsake box as a welcome gift.

Each time I've had a question the response has been quick and pleasant.
We couldn't be more pleased with their service.

Was there a specific agent who takes care of the cruises?

We've been very happy with them! Whenever I have a question for them they answer very quickly. I'm still hoping to get an email that they've found a cheaper rate for my cruise!! LOL But, they've been very professional and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Very responsive by email... great on board credits (totally hooked up is repo cruisers last year)...

but I must say... speaking to a live person... not so easy at DU.

IMHO

There is not one specific person who handles cruises for DU. They have a team of agents who handle the cruise reservations. Once you receive a reservation confirmation there will be an 800 number on the page and you will be able to call any time if you have a question. :)

Maybe it's just me but I'm NOT so happy with DU. This is the 1st time I've used them, I've always used another TA for our previous DCL cruises but based on glowing reports from other Dissers I thought that I would try them out for our Baltic cruise. I've emailed a couple of times concerning this fuel surcharge issue and all I've got back are very curt, dismissive emails basically telling me to go away

Disneynutinlondon - I am sorry to hear you feel any correspondence from DU has been 'dismissive' in any way.

I would be happy to discuss this with you and find out who from DU might be sending emails that do not reflect the customer service level that DU prides itself on. Please feel free to email me directly at John@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com

I would like to add that we are still working with DCL on the whole fuel surcharge issue. I know some people on these boards are saying they had the fuel surcharge removed but DCL is telling us they cannot do this and the process is a little more complicated than just asking for the fuel surcharge to be removed as their systems are not able to do this.

Again, I apologize if you received an email that you felt was dismissive and would be happy to discuss it with you further.

we've had to same treatment for our first cruise with DU. We were not impressed at all with them.
For our second we booked with another TA and so far she is amazing.

I'm sorry you weren't happy with DU's emails but I can tell you from past experience they are probably having a dickens of a time with DCL regarding the fuel surcharge and the DCL's website. If you call DCL directly you will not always get the same answer twice.

I've always found DU to be incredibly helpful and accomadating. I've had to rebook the same cruise twice already and Kelsie has been terrific in calming my nerves.

They are better! :thumbsup2

We are using them for our first cruise and I could not be happier! I am an OCD planner and Tracy, our dreams agent, has been fantastic. She has gone WAY above the call of duty. I have no problems at all with communications. She gets right back to me with an answer. Dreams has been awesome. I received such good service that I transfered my upcoming WDW ressie to them. I could not be happier.:goodvibes

We also have Tracy as our TA and she has been nothing short of incredible. She always replies promptly to my queries (no matter how weird or off the wall) and was able to apply the discount for Canadians to my reservation before I even knew it existed. I will definitely book through DU again and will ask for her by name if I can.

We have used them to book 3 cruises and were very pleased with the service from DU.

Not happy,
You cannot call your agent on the phone. So, if you don't travel with an Email device you'd better hope you don't get into trouble.
And, no stateroom credits for me. I did ask but was brushed off about it by being told I was getting a "great rate".
I did book at the beginning of the fuel surcharge and slipped in under the wire and booked surcharge free.
:sad2:

I was going to try to use them before, but emailed for a quote for something they advertised and nobody got back with me for over 72 hours. By that time what I was hoping for was unavailable. I have since used Vacations to Go for my last two Disney cruises (they did have the category available that I tried to get through DU and it was at a lower price) and have a third booked with them for next May. I work with a TA who I have a phone number for and he either answers or calls back right away, and is great with emails, too. He's worked really hard to make certain requests happen, etc, and I couldn't be any happier! :thumbsup2

I have booked many cruises with them and found their services very good indeed.

They have a high knowledge of DCL, and good levels of customer service,

I cannot post things hey have done for me, but they have on occasions gone 'over and above for me'.

Its difficult to post the detail as then everyone reading this will then say do this for me, and accept it as the new standard.

All I can say is trust me their service is good, and I would aways suggest booking your DCL cruise through a 'specialist' DCL travel agent.

Yes you can book direct, but they support you more, and have the 'leverage' with DCL to try to sort out issues such as the fuel supplement.

They have found me cheaper WDW prices and automatically change my booking down to a lower rate or given me free dinner plan.

Its nice to have someone in your side, when a problem occurs, its rare but very helpful.

Some people say you loose control on your booking that is not true, you can book Palo and shore trips direct, no loss of control there, also I have contacted DCL direct a few times, whilst if your booking is made through a TA
enquiries should be routed through them first, I have found DCL will speak to me on general issues, not payment issues.

I have been able to get on two Eastbound repo cruises through the Panama canal and get the rooms I wanted, first price tier, the side of the ship I wanted, and these cruises sold out first day. I booked through Dreams.

My next two cruises are booked with Cat 3s, I have the very popular mid ship location suites, that is because I booked through a travel agent.

I haven't been impressed with DU.

I could never figure out who "my" agent was -- my emails would also be re-directed to someone else.

Not being able to speak with an agent live was a problem.

I did switch to DU a few times right before final payment so I could snag the OBC, but have recently decided that it's not worth it and I would much rather retain control of my reservation.
