Dreams Unlimited or Small World Vacations

Just wondering what travel services you all use, and why? Small World, Dreams Unlimited, or any other? Thanks

I hate to seem parochial, and I really know nothing about Small World Travel, but using Dreams Unlimited supports this site.

And I know that they have really knowledgable agents who are willing to go the extra mile for you.

I have had excellent service with Dreams Unlimited. They will apply codes as they come out and book hard to get PS's. I also like that you can request your Ps's online. Our agent responded to requests quickly online and by phone. I also felt more comfortable that I had his phone number so if there was some emergency, I could contact him immediately.

I don't know anything about Small World Vacations. I know some of the online travel agencies are mom and pop operations and could disappear overnight. I don't know if Small World is like this, but you need to do lots of research before you use them. It took me a year of research to use Dreams, and I learned they had been around a while and have several agents. If I didn't use Dreams, I would find a local travel agent to use.

For WDW trips I have used Dreams Unlimited as well as American Express Travel and have had excellent service with both. However, now that I'm a bit more experienced, I book everything myself. Doesn't save time, but it does save $.

Another vote for Dreams Unlimited here. They are great about researching codes and saving me money.

Small World Travel all the way!!! I used them for my upcoming November trip and they have been absolutely wonderful!!! I've had to make several changes and my agent has been able to work with my by email (email is easier for me since I'm in front of the computer all day at work) and is always prompt getting back to me. She even took care of all of my PS arrangements and was happy to give all kinds of great tips!!!

I'm pretty sure that if you go to their site and ask for a quote that they have different agents in different areas of the country, so depending on where you live, you get someone local to you. I live in Massachusetts and got an agent named Marion that works out of her home in New Hampshier and she has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I even sent a letter to Small World telling them how wonderful she is.

I have not used Small World, I am using Dreams for my November vacation. They are awesome, Cathy Lord is my planner, she has helped immensly, made all of my PS arrangements and will make my resort requests, she also helped with locating babysitting. The response time when I email is outstanding, and I just made a bunch of changes without incident.

I plan on using DU for our upcoming trip this Feb. I have heard great things about them and they were very quick with my quote and polite. I know that mousesavers.com endorses small world and Mary the lady that runs the site uses them. I have a feeling that they are both great from what I have read.

I can't imagine not using DU. I have used them since 2000 for DCL and then WDW. Dagny is wonderful. She makes PS for me, gets me the best deal always and I get exactly what I want when I want it. She has found me deals and rooms when there were none out there!
As stated in a previous post, these boards ,which help so many, are paid for, run by, moderated, etc by Dreams Unlimited. Why would you come to these boards and then not support them?

The question was quite innocent. If you use a travel agency, who and why???

I did not know that the site was, 'run by, paid for by, etc' DUT. When I log onto the Disboards, I see advertisements from Holiday Inn, Florida Tours, The Timeshare Store, The Swan and Dolphin etc.

We all use many websites and do not buy everything that is advertised on them by their sponsors. As do we all watch television and listen to the radio, and do not purchase everything we see advertised on our favorite shows.

I have used a travel agency, (not to be named) for my most recent WDW trips and have had one GREAT experience, and have had a not so good experience, so I was looking for some help with valid responses, and reasons why you choose who you choose to work with.

Speaking personally, because Dreams Unlimited does all they do for this board and thier excellent service, is the "why" I chose to use them, after reading alot about them on this board. Is that not a valid response? Are you looking for something more specific?

I meant no ugliness by the response just telling you why I use them and why you should. These boards are invaluable and I would hate to lose them. Nothing negative about small world vacations to report.
Dagny is my DU TA and I have nothing but great things to report as stated above.

Thank you so much for the reply message! I feel much better. It was eating me up that I thought that I was being viewed as the bad guy for asking for opinions about 'the other company'. Maybe I am just too sensitive. Again, thank you, and I will try to calm the pregnant lady paranoia.

PatsFan - I am sure you will have a great experience, no matter which travel agency you use I certainly recommend that you use the travel agency and travel agent that you feel most comfortable with If you are a frequent traveler to WDW, then developing a relationship with your travel agent is important as they get to know your travel preferences, dining and park touring needs. As Julie mentioned, she and I have planned many trips together, but we have also become friends... that is what makes this job even more fun

Just stating the facts Dagny!
But it is wonderful, feeling secure knowing that your trip is in safe hands.
This should seal it for you- seriously! Just through the emails Dagny and I have established a friendship and I have had some awesome trips too!
