Here comes Thursday Carole!
I really hope your o.k. with these little commentaries. Well Thursday we woke up to Mickey! Rise and shine! Up and at it. And we did, Jumped in the shower and did a speed walk to the food court, had our muffin and coffee and on the bus to Animal Kingdom. I was really looking forward to this awesome day. We arrived shortly after 8am we headed over to the Dinosaur area and just scoped it out then we went on the Dinosaur ride. Cute it was. We spent some time looking at the bones and teeth, I just find these fascinating. Dale really likes the bone structure, so no dought we spent some time in here. Then we went on over to Asia checked out the different animals along the way. Got a good picture of some flamingos. When we arrived in Asia we went on the rapids ride there was no line. we put on the ponchos and went for it. Our little raft was full there was a family of four and a retired couple and Dale and I. We went around once and came back to the beginning and the lady ask if we wanted to go again and the kids and I both said YES! So we stayed on. I think the other passengers were not so happy that we were going again and they really got wet the second time. I had a great time. we let everyone off and went one more time. By this time Dale was ready to get off. (I could of stayed on a while longer) then we went up on the bridge to play squirt the rafts. Everyone was having to much fun so we left to go over to Africa to meet up with some friends and go on the Safari. Wow how cool. So many of the Animals were out. My buddies Faith, Linda, Figgy and her husband Brit and there three kids went with us. I enjoyed the boys on this ride they were so amazed by all the animals, I was disappointed that I had a head full of air and forgot to pull my camera out of my pack. could of gotten some excellent pictures. When we finished we had about a half hour before we met up with a few more of the pals. So we headed over to a Pin Cart. (Brit told me he would have me addicted by the end on the week. He told me this on Sunday) Well I bought my first lanyard and four pins so I could get my "My first Pooh Pin". This is where the madness started.....little did I know. Our friends met up with us and we went to the lion king show....I was in the elephant section. It was pretty good. Guess what song was in my head the rest of the day. Good guess!
We were all getting pretty hungry for lunch so they wanted to go to the rain forest cafe. It was pretty good. We shared a chocolate Volcano for desert. It was really good. But I felt a little OD'ed afterward. So needed to do something Quite so we went to Bugs life. It was great Now everyone I was with found out I was a screamer. They cracked up at me the rest of the night I don't think I will ever live that one down. The tree of life totally amazed me I think I took two rolls of film here. I was just in awe. I need to go back to animal kingdom when I am not in a hurry to go anywhere. We left about 4pm had just enough time to get back to the resort and freshen up and change to go out that evening. We took the boat down the river. We all met at Downtown Disney at 6pm. We met pals from all over the U.S. One gal and I have been talking for three years and this was the first time we ever met...so great it was!! There were thirteen of us that met and went shopping for the planners. then eighteen of us met at bongos around 7pm we had 7:30 reservations for fifteen. three people had to leave to go pin trading. (They were pro's with thousands of pins. mainly international pins) they visited for a while. When our table was ready they left. It was a great night. Melinda who went last year to Disneyland brought her husband also...His name is Hami. Dale and Hami hit it off right away. Of course all day it had been like 8 girls and two guys they both enjoyed the ratio. at dinner there we 12 girls and three guys. We strategically placed them at the table. All the girls moved around to visit each other. You know it's really hard to believe that we all met on the internet and here we sat just great friends. WOW what can I say. I can't remember are waiters name right at this second but he handled us great. I think he got about a fifty dollar tip plus what he got of our bill. He was a happy guy. We were a happy group. We left there about 10 and went over to pleasure island. Some good 70's and 80's music playing. We had a great time. We went to the comedy show at I think 10:50 or 11. It was pretty good too! Another night we dragged ourselves in late. We got back to the apartment around 2:00. We called to have Mickey wake us up again but made the first major change on our itinerary. And that was to not go to Epcot on early entry. We were wiped.
