Dreams come true...WDW 8/30-9/16

Day 4...The Pirate and the Princess Party

After dinner and dancing at Cosmic Ray's we headed back into Fantasyland. WOW...it was like a ghost town. Being as it's often so crowded and slow loading that we skip it, we did Dumbo first. I was lucky enough to get to ride with Prince Ali (aka "Goofy") and boy did he love it! He laughed and laughed and laughed while Dumbo flew up and down and round and round.

Here's a picture of "Aladdin" and "Stitch" flying along right in front of us.
Disney07158.jpg

After Dumbo we hopped right on all of the Fantasyland rides! Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, It's a Small World, Snow White, Philharmagic, the carosel...we hit them all.

Disney07162.jpg

On top of all of the rides we hit an under the sea dance party. The boys had a great time cuttin' a seaweed rug with Flounder.
Disney07164.jpg

Disney07165.jpg

After all of that dancing the boys needed a drink. While dh and "Aladdin" got us all drinks the little boys posed with their favorite elephant for me.

Disney07168.jpg

So with all of that happily under our belts we headed over to Tomorrowland.

While there we hit Buzz Lightyear and then laughed our hearts out with the new Monster Laugh Floor. It was so funny. I won't go into so much detail that I would spoil it for those who haven't yet been. But for my money, it's just as good as Turtle Talk with Crush at EPCOT, maybe even better! Dh, myself and "Stitch" all had a turn "on camera". I was laughing so hard I had a side ache. They popped up a picture of dh up on screen and captioned it that he was going to be buying churros for the entire audience. They had me do a bit with one of the monsters who was trying to guess a number I thought of. And "Stitch" helped another monster entertainer out with a joke and told him a bit about the human world.

If you would like to participate, try and sit on the inside end of one of the front to mid section rows.

When we exited Monsters Inc. we realized that we were missing the fireworks. We caught the last few moments of them but we had missed the bulk of them while laughing our heads off at the Laugh Floor. A let down of sorts, but we knew we had plenty more WDW fireworks displays to look forward to!

After that dh and "Aladdin" went over and took a trip through space on Space Mountain. That was one bummer about Disney while pregnant...no big rides. However, I had a lot of fun while they were on Space Mountain with the two younger boys. We took what must have been the wildest ride on The Tomorrowland Transit Authority. "Stitch" and "Goofy" were both singing, laughing and acting like fools. Lucky there was nobody on the ride with us. All of the cars in our section were empty (except for ours of course;) ).

These pictures show a bit of the fun.

Who knew the TTA could be quite so much fun?!

Something I have neglected to mention is that along the way we have been stopping at any treasure stops we see. At most of them we collected chocolates wrapped in bright foil colors (Hershey's Kisses and assorted other mini Hershey bars), chocolate gold coins and at a few, we collected shiny bead necklaces. We really didn't make getting candy treats a goal of ours...but we ended up with a great big bowl of candy (large mixing bowl size) to bring home.

Back to the party...it was time for us to head over to see the special parade. Our plans had us heading over near Frontierland to see the parade. Along the way we were lucky enough to happen upon LINDABABE once again. I FINALLY had the camera with me and was together enough to snap a picture! My first picture with another DISer! :yay: :yay: :yay:
Disney07181.jpg

Linda is the pretty princess on the ECV. The other woman in the photo is one of Linda's friends. I know I have said it before, but what a sweet woman she is!!

After a quick hello and picture it was time to head over to our parade watching area so that we were assured of a front row spot.

As we were waiting for the parade to begin, our little Prince Ali had a very magical moment of his own. A CM who was selling cotton candy came up to "Goofy" and started going on and on over his costume. He told him it was the coolest costume he had ever seen. And then he gave "Goofy" a bag of cotton candy! "Goofy" was in heaven! He has a BIG sweet tooth and he felt so very special! THANK YOU cotton candy CM! What a sweet gesture. You really made our little prince's night!
Disney07182.jpg

Disney07183.jpg

"Goofy" was nice enough to share his cotton candy with the rest of us as we settled in and waited for the parade to begin. Sitting around with sticky fingers and sticky smiles it was very sweet moment. Everyone was so happy. We had already had such a perfect vacation and we had really just begun. In those few minutes before the parade began we had so much fun just being together as a family. I know those type of moments only matter to our family...but that one was especially sweet for no reason other then us being together and I just had to share it. For me, those moments amid the magic are what keep us coming back.

Up next, the parade!

It's me....... Late again!! :confused3

IT'S A BOY!!!!! Yippee!!!! There's just something about a baby boy to tug at a mom's heartstrings, isn't there? I envy you, your SOLE princess status at your house. I may not be the only princess at my house, but you can BET I'm the QUEEN!!!!! :rotfl:

What a great night for "Goofy"! He will remember that night for the rest of his life. How special for him. I absolutely loved the photos of the boys on the TTA. How fun was that. Ya know, we have never been on that ride. Can you believe it? We have to do that, too, next time.

Loving everything about your trip.

Great report!! I am definitely going to stay at conceirge level at AKL. Sounds like so much fun. Can't wait for more!

It was SO COOL that we were three times lucky to meet each other! I agree wholeheartedly - that pirate night was AWESOME and your boys are just so darn cute. Even the big one ;-) No, I have to rephrase that. Your whole family, including YOU, Jay, are so darn cute. I can't wait to see the baby!

Can't wait for more! My daughter and I wait for your updates everyday, and it is making us even more excited for our trip!:goodvibes

I included you and the newest prince in my prayers last night.
I think I need to print out your post and look at it when I get down. You just brought me a huge smile. And knowing someone is praying brings a lot of comfort! THANKS!!:goodvibes

I think I was destined to be the mom of boys. I love wading in the creek and finding crawdads, fish and frogs with them. I have just as much fun as they do when we grab a rock hammer and start cracking open rocks looking for fossils. I actually like helping them build stuff out of mud and sticks. Not that a girl might not love all of those things...I do after all! ;)

However, I am really looking forward to having daughter-in-laws! I want to take them shopping and to get pedicures and to the spa and to bookstores and...and...and...and! ;) Well, I am really looking forward to having some female counterparts in the family! My dad had three girls. By the time he got son-in-laws...he was in heaven. ;) I am glad I was able to watch my mom and dad "have" sons via marriage. It taught me that you don't lose a child when they get married...you actually gain another! Now, the boys can hold off on bringing me any daughters for quite some time...:rotfl2: but when they do I will have my happy feet on!:dance3:

I have never had quite such a "wild" ride on the TTA before. I think it's a great ride. Not that it is really anything more then a tour around Tomorrowland, but it is always one of my favorites.

Goofy sure seems to be having an extra magical night!
It gets even MORE magical for him!! That will come out in the next installment.:thumbsup2

Great report!! I am definitely going to stay at conceirge level at AKL. Sounds like so much fun. Can't wait for more!
It was a really special treat! Our family plans to stay there again and again! We loved it!!

I told you all she was sweet! ;) And thank you Linda! You have yet another appearance to come...or rather your kindness does!! :):cloud9:

I love the fact that you had your "own entertainment" on the TTA...so much fun! :goodvibes It looks as though your family has a great time on vacation! :thumbsup2 Can't wait for more!!!

Hi Jay!

Congrats on your new little prince!

Hey, I noticed that your DH went on space mountain. That doesn't trigger his motion sickness? Lucky him! It always gets me. That is one that my dh has to ride alone. lol

Oh, and a little off topic, you stayed at ASMovies, right? Were you ok staying value? Our first time will be in January (I have a pre-trip report!) and I was wondering what you thought. I can't find that trip report to check it out again. Did you have a king room? If not, did the double beds bother you?

Anyways, can't wait to read more of your trip report now that I've finally caught up.

On with the show (or parade as it may be)...

Sticky fingers wiped clean with wipes we eagerly awaited the last few moments until the parade began...it's funny but I remember thinking, I hope it's not all princess/prince stuff cause I know the boys would like to see a good bit of pirate stuff. Well, I shouldn't have worried, they were into the princess/prince stuff as well!

The parade started with mounted knights. Our little prince/pirates were over-the-moon excited to see horses in a Magic Kingdom parade. Dh thought the royal pooper scoopers that followed them were great.
He laughed pretty darn hard at those.
Disney07189.jpg

Snow White had a beautiful coach. Shiny white and festooned with jewels.
Disney07190.jpg

Disney07191.jpg

Of course where you find Snow White, you will find seven shortish friends!! They were dancing along the route. I had never seen them all together before, so that was a treat.
Disney07193.jpg

Dopey came over and gave "Stitch" and "Aladdin" a high five.
Disney07194.jpg

Up next we saw some dancing maidens. "Aladdin" (who has hit that preteen humor stage) started singing "8 lords a-leaping, 9 LADIES DANCING...", it was hard to take the picture as I was laughing so hard.
Disney07195.jpg

Disney07197.jpg

I didn't get a picture of Sleeping Beauty as I was still laughing at my silly singing son. However, she was followed by a few "helpful" fairies. ;)
Disney07201.jpg

Next up Cinderella was proceeded by her court.
Disney07202.jpg

Disney07203.jpg

Disney07204.jpg

Next up, my personal favorite princess, Belle! I love her smarts, her wit and her curious nature! I also love her prince! ;) If I had my pick of princes, I would go with Beast.
Disney07205.jpg

Disney07206.jpg

Next up Ariel (I think Eric would be my runner up prince of choice).
Disney07207.jpg

Next up was the best part of the parade for our family...

Aladdin and Jasmine!!
Disney07209.jpg

Actually, I got so into the moment that I didn't get one picture snapped of them. As they rode by, Jasmine spotted our very own little Prince Ali while they were still a few feet from us. She started blowing him kisses and calling out to him and telling him he was the cutest little prince ever. Then she started almost yelling at the real Aladdin to look over and see himself as a child. Aladdin then started calling out to "Goofy" how awesome his costume was and that he had the right idea, would you please make sure Abu didn't get into any trouble while he was busy in the parade and stuff like that. Their horses paused in front of us briefly (because the parade was sort of on hold...most likely for the royal pooper scooper...HA). While they were in front of us, they continued to interact with "Goofy" the entire time. I cannot tell you what this meant to our little prince! He was walking on a cloud by the time the night was over!! This was one MK event he is sure never to forget!! This was one moment I just "lived in" vs. photographed it. I was so happy for "Goofy" because he was really soaking it all in. I couldn't peel my eyes away from his face or my ears from what he was calling back to them long enough to even remember to press the button on the camera.
Even as they rode away, they would turn back and wave to him. It was one of the highlights of his year!

Up next was what "Stitch" and "Aladdin" had been waiting for...THE PIRATES!!

Disney07218.jpg

The Pirates of the Caribbean float was amazing! Dueling pirates, Elizabeth (and Will I think) and of course, Capt. Jack himself!! My little pirates (and even my prince) went hoarse from yelling greetings to them. At one point one of the pirates even swung across the float on a rope!! It was my favorite parade float ever! **Sorry for the poor quality photos, I was having trouble enjoying and shooting at the same time;)**

Speaking of dueling...next up was Capt. Hook and Peter Pan!
Disney07219.jpg

Tinkerbell!!

Following the pirate brigade were Mickey and friends dressed in their royal best.

Disney07228.jpg

Although this parade was a great one, it was really a lot shorter then the MNSSHP or any other current Disney parade. Maybe they will make it even longer next year!! :thumbsup2

After the parade rolled by dh took the two younger boys for a quick bathroom break while I took "Aladdin" in to see a quick Country Bears show. For some reason, he loves the Country Bears.

There was about an hour left until the park closed and I was T-I-R-E-D!! So I made arrangements to meet them by the Goofy bench at the start of Main Street and I headed over there to people watch and relax for the final hour of the P&P Party. As I sat there (I didn't actually get to sit on the bench, it was taken, but even better I was on the front porch outside of the photo center and I was able to sit on a rocker where I could feel the cool breeze from the open doors blowing out on me) I did a little bit of people watching and a whole lot of reflection. This was only the 4th day of my vacation and I had already been so blessed that I couldn't stop smiling. I also used my cell phone to place a quick check in call to my sister. My dad was slowly but surely getting more responsive and starting to finally eat on his own! :woohoo: That great news from home really topped the night off!

Once I was rejoined by my pirate crew (and prince) we made our way to our van as they told me of their Splash Mountain adventures and how they had gotten to ride it three times in a row...without having to get off in between rides! The park was that empty! I sure do wish I could have joined them for that fun, but I was so very happy that they were able to end our family's first P&P party in such a great way!

Up next, back to MK for some daytime fun!!

To be continued...

After reading all the reports and seeing all the pictures of this party all over the Dis and here I now really want to go to this party. It sounds like so much fun!

WOW what an amazing night you guys had!!! I can't believe your TR is just beginning- you have already had enough memories to last a year I think :goodvibes

I also cant get over how adorable your boys are. They seem so into Disney it's a dream come true for any Diser :thumbsup2 I hope I have kids like that one day and they have some amazing Disney dreams of their own.

Can't wait for yoru next installment :coffee:

I must have missed the start of your report. I have read your previous one and am loving this one. I love all the AKL time, I think the hotels have a lot to offer and your report makes visiting AKL a must do next time. Congrats on your coming in 08 baby boy!

WOW!! Another score for Goofy!!!:cool1: How great for him. I bet he was really glad that he wore the Aladdin costume!!

Oh, Jay! Just fabulous. If you'll pm me your email addy, I'll share my snapfish links with you - I think I got some of the photos you missed (except of your kids, of course) and I KNOW you got some of the photos I missed - that Daisy Duck is GREAT!

Sounds like you guys had a great time at the Pirate & Princess party! :cool1:

I just love reading your trip reports, you and your family always seem to be so happy, really enjoying your time together creating special memories. Gives me the warm fuzzies!! :goodvibes

I love the fact that you had your "own entertainment" on the TTA...so much fun! :goodvibes It looks as though your family has a great time on vacation! :thumbsup2 Can't wait for more!!!
Vacations really are a special time for us. It's hard not to have a great time when we are all together. However, throw in Disney to the mix and you get great times much more often then not.

Those two little stinkers, they spent the whole TTA ride acting like goofs. I am so glad nobody was right in front of us or behind us, I would have hated to have to curtail their fun.

Space Mountain is a once a day ride for him. He was woozy after he got off of it...but without me to ride with "Aladdin" would have be out of luck if dh hadn't stepped up. I am one of those paranoid parents who wouldn't let him go off alone at WDW yet. ;)

YES, we stayed at ASMovies. We LOVED the theming. The larger then life characters. The fun music all over the resorts. The resort was fun, fun, fun. And yes, we were okay staying at a value because we did it for "Stitch" (he was a larger then life Buzz Lightyear fan at the time so staying near a larger then life Buzz only made sense). I think the values have the best food courts on property. Lots of choices, multiple food stations, large dining areas. If you do stay there, get the Mickey waffle sundae...oh gracious me!! A fresh, warm Mickey waffle topped with ice cream and hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry on top! OH YUM! The pools (and entire resort really) have an amplified Disney theme. You don't forget for one second you are staying at Disney. It's on the walls, in the courtyards, themes the pool. I love that about that resort.

All of that said, they really are nothing like a deluxe (IMHO). The furniture was a lot more "knicked" up and one of the drawers didn't slide out. It wasn't where I would spend a vacation we planned on having a lot of resort time however, for a vacation full of long park days, it was a fine fit.

Would I go back? Yes, no question. Would I know going in it would be a very differnt sort of stay? Yes, no question again. Dh on the other hand says he has liked all of the resorts we have stayed at NOT including ASMovies. But don't listen to him, he's just being a resort snob. ;) The beds may have had something to do with it. We had two connecting rooms. So we had four double beds total and two bathrooms. We did have enough space, however the bed space was a lot smaller then we are used to (we have a California King at home).

As far as the boys, "Aladdin" has no desire to return (he likes sit down meals:lmao: ...that's what he told me when I asked his opinion). But both "Goofy" and "Stitch" said "YEAH COOL, the big characters!!!!".

Anyway, I babbled. Sorry. ;) In closing, I think ASMovies can be a whole lot of fun. You just have to go in knowing it will be very different from a stay at a deluxe and stop to appreciate the stuff that makes ASMoives unique instead of comparing the things they have in common (which I think is what dh did). So there you have it, our entire families opinion of ASMovies.

After reading all the reports and seeing all the pictures of this party all over the Dis and here I now really want to go to this party. It sounds like so much fun!
It was a whole lot of fun! It's a neat addition (any of the hard ticket parties) to a vacation if you can fit one in. :thumbsup2 There's just something about Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad after dark...they somehow get even better!!

Why thanks! I think they are a bit adorable too ;). And YES, they are into Disney...I hope they don't outgrow it!!

I must have missed the start of your report. I have read your previous one and am loving this one. I love all the AKL time, I think the hotels have a lot to offer and your report makes visiting AKL a must do next time. Congrats on your coming in 08 baby boy!
I do think AKL is a must visit! They have some great places to eat coupled with lots of fun (and mostly free) activities. It really is worth a trip over!!

WOW!! Another score for Goofy!!!:cool1: How great for him. I bet he was really glad that he wore the Aladdin costume!!
He was!! And to think we had his pirate costume back up in the van! ;)

Oh, Jay! Just fabulous. If you'll pm me your email addy, I'll share my snapfish links with you - I think I got some of the photos you missed (except of your kids, of course) and I KNOW you got some of the photos I missed - that Daisy Duck is GREAT!
I will PM you Linda! Did the picture of us together turn out? I would love a shot with you and dh in it! Since he snapped mine...no dh in my photo.

Sounds like you guys had a great time at the Pirate & Princess party! :cool1:

I just love reading your trip reports, you and your family always seem to be so happy, really enjoying your time together creating special memories. Gives me the warm fuzzies!! :goodvibes
Well, we aren't always happy....you should have been here last night :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Our big lug of a dog ate garbage once again (he LIVES for dining on garbage, the more rotten, the better). He is the dog Houdini...he can break into locked cabinets, open closed garbage containers and do it all quietly enough that nobody knows he is into it before we find the mess.

Well, last night he binged on enough day old gross stuff to make himself sick (I said Houdini, not Einstein!) . We all spent the better part of the night running him out and cleaning up after he didn't make it out. NOT a happy family moment! ;):sad2:

I am really loving your report! And congrats on your upcoming arrival!:goodvibes
Looking foward to morepopcorn::

Wow! I can't believe all the "magic" you were blessed with!:wizard:
I loved the pictures from the parade.

Hey Jay!

Thanks for all the great info about ASMovies. I'll have to see if it's available during our stay.

You're the best!
