Hello fellow cruisers!

My DW, DD(20), and DS(18) will be making our very embarking on our very first Disney Cruise on the Dream Dec 11th! We are traveling with some friends who have two young boys (age 6 and 8) and it will be there first time as well. We are so looking forward to it...

My DW even made a paper chain with one link for each day until we leave -- the thing is WAY too long right now.

We will also being visiting WDW afterward which will be our first visit in about 8 years. We live in the Pacific Northwest so we don't get to FL too often.

Welcome! :welcome: I grew up in the Portland area and still have family in Vancouver and Randle, WA. I sure miss the mountains and waterfalls. My son has boys ages 6, 8 and 10, but they aren't cruising until August 2012. They took their first cruise with us in November 2010 and loved it so much they immediately signed up for another one.

Your paper chain must be draped all over the house, but it will magically shorten day by day, and all of a sudden it will be time to go! The anticipation is so exciting. There are lots of veteran cruisers here so if you have any questions, ask away. If you need a good reference book, I recommend the PassPorter Guide to the Disney Cruise Line. Their 2011 edition should be out in April.

I just might have a lot questions as time gets closer. I pre-ordered the Passporter book back in January and I'm looking forward to receiving it.

We just booked this cruise.:woohoo:
This is our 1st cruise and we can't wait.
We thought we would try to book something in 2012 but I got lucky and won this cruise on a radio show.:cool1:
So we are believers that Disney Dreams DO COME TRUE:wizard:

We booked a few months ago with our friends. We are dh, dd (16), ds (11), and me. Our neighbors are dw, dh, and dd (11). :goodvibes

We sailed in 2003 and it will be the first cruise for our friends! So looking forward to it. We plan to add on a couple of days in the parks as we can.
:goodvibes

I'm a little out of practice at posting - we had planned to go in 2009 but had to cancel due to kids school sports season. I hope to get back in the swing of things soon!

Has anyone thought about extras like Palo's or excursions yet? I think we're thinking of Atlantis is Nassau and that's it.

We did Palo's on the Magic and loved it, but with this short cruise we thought just seeing the regular schedule on this new ship would be enough. Others' thoughts?:confused3

(And I'm not sure the adult dining on Dream is the same name.)
:scared1:

Well... we booked the Palo brunch on our last 4 night but ended up cancelling because it felt like we had such a limited time on the ship - we had a hard time justifying both the additional cost AND the time spent! I had considered looking into Atlantis because I KNOW my kids would LOVE the waterpark there, but it's the same thing. For the amount of money it would cost us, we could do a couple of waterpark trips this summer to places within driving distance from our house, and I know there will be PLENTY on the Dream to keep us all entertained and occupied without doing any excursions.

We are doing good to afford to be on the ship, I guess, and I have a hard time justifying spending extra when I know we will have a fabulous time without the add-ons. I will just live vicariously through the rest of you guys!!

Just booked tonight :cool1: this will be our 1st Disney cruise. Myself, hubby, son (5), daughter (2). I'm so excited. I have been reading through threads trying to get info and picking a room that was so hard and I'm still not sure about my room. Fingers crossed it's good.

Eta-

Ended up picking room 8088 but I can't find reviews on it kinda nervous.
I know we still have 220days but who is counting not me hehe... I'm new to this board and as I said this is my 1st Disney cruise. I've seen people post about the fish extenders does anyone here do this?

Also we are trying to decide on excursions. If we decide to stay on the ship is there activities, shows and other stuff to do the day we pull into nassua? I thought about booking a hotel & doing Atlantis. Has anyone done that?
