Dream in Liverpool - everyone ok?

Lots of mindless protests in the U.K. this week and the Dream even appeared in the background of news footage as it was docked in Liverpool.

Just checking in to make sure everyone on board is ok, and wondering if DCL issued any advice?

I seem to remember this was actually a change to the itinerary, in lieu of a missed Iceland stop.

Anyway, just checking it didn’t ruin your holiday. I promise not all us Brits are idiots.

My daughter lives right near the Strand in Liverpool. She's been sending me photos of the destruction and the helicopters are hovering just over her house. Such an awful situation.

I just returned from a week in Liverpool visiting and touring with my daughter and her best friend. We met such lovely people and the gracious hospitality of the people of Liverpool made our trip a truly wonderful experience.

Glad to hear you had a great time - it’s such a fab city. It was so sad to see the image of the ship in the background with thugs causing destruction close by.

Hope your daughter is safe and managed to avoid the chaos.

I live just over the water from Liverpool on the Wirral and am mortified and ashamed by what I saw yesterday.
It is not a true reflection of the normally wonderful and hospitable city, and I hope those visiting on the Dream were kept safe and for those visiting the city for the first time get a chance to come back and experience it as it it should be.
