Goofyposter pointed out Tara's original post to me, about trying to help out a terminally ill friend.

I emailed Tara with some suggestions on how they could make the trip happen (as did many other people) and offered to create a flyer for her.

Well, I told them they could choose between any of the monorail resorts and Wilderness Lodge because I was told they had a boat that took you too Magic Kingdom where there they could get on the monorail. But today the lady from the Disney Compassion program said they only had buses- so I need to confirm either way. I just want to limit the walking and transport time for them- Disney will provide 3 days worth of tickets- but you and I know Disney usually takes 5 days especially if you're hitting a water park. So if we have the funds I would like to buy them extra tickets but I'm sure they'll be ecstatic with 3 days- they'll just be busy because it's probably their only trip down there and I know they'll want to see everything. I'm trying to find out the days fireworks are and all that so I can maximize their time and show them the top rides not to miss. I feel like it's Christmas being able to organize all this!! I did sign them up at the Liberty Tavern for dinner on their first full day there- it will be Caleb's birthday and they're going to give him a cupcake with candle and a card signed by Mickey- just one of the surprises I'm trying to pull off!

There is a boat from Wilderness Lodge to the MK, at least their was 2 weeks ago.

I agree, upgrading their passes would be a good idea.

That will be so wonderful to celebrate Calebs birthday while they are in the World.

When you make the reservation be sure to mention that it's his birthday.

Maybe there is someone on the DIS who's going down to WDW soon and could pick up a birthday badge for Caleb. Hint, hint!

Is Jennifer strong enough to handle the walking or will you have to plan some money for an ECV cart or wheel chair?

We just changed their dates to fly out on September (Friday) the 13th! We had to because the 14th didn't have any award seats available- we've gotten 3 tickets donated and I think Northwest is going to donate the fourth. Some of you might think- uh oh flying out on Friday the 13th! But what's really special about that is it's MY BIRTHDAY!! What better gift than to drive them to the airport! Isn't this world amazing? So turning 35 won't be as bad as it sounds- ha. Thanks all!
