Dream Drydock

Does anyone know if the upcoming drydock is just for regular maintenance or is it also getting something special added to it? We will be on it right after it goes back in service so I am curious.

Some posters feel that Satellite Falls will be added, and an extra-fee concession (ice cream/candy) shop; also, I think, Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique.

All of that has been confirmed by DCL.

I thought it had already been confirmed that Satellite Falls was being added. I know the Oceaneers Club is getting a makeover with Star Wars and Disney Infinity areas being added.

I was on the Dream last weekend and the bartender in Pink told me that it would be getting some big changes during the Dry Dock.

There is already free ice cream on the Dream that they are replacing with ice cream you will pay for.

I didn't get the impression that they will do away with the free soft serve, just that they are adding a premium option. For some reason, I was thinking it was gelato they were adding, not just regular ice cream.

We have cruises with Disney many times but never felt that the "Eye Scream" tasted all that good. Just thinking maybe there would be options like Sundaes and things like that.

I guess technically neither is ice cream in its purest form since it is curently soft serve and the new will be gelato.

From the description of where the shop will be in relation to the restaurant it certainly sounds like the new shop will involve closing in the area where Mike's currently is to build Venelope's.

I'd guess it's possible they'd keep both but I find that highly unlikely. I don't think they're going to want to give parents an easy option to walk 10 feet for a free alternative when the kids want something that costs extra money.

Isn't that all kind of in the same place? The last time we were on the Dream was the maiden voyage and I can't remember and I'm sure you guys can tell me faster than I can get the deck plans pulled up.

No, they aren't in the same place. The arcade is next to Cabanas, which is aft. The quick service area, which includes Eye Scream, is mid-ship.

Ok. Maybe it will stay then. I'm not a huge fan of soft serve by itself but it makes a mean coke float.

Maybe its not Ben and Jerry's but who doesn't like a soft serve while hanging out on the deck watching a movie? One of my son and mine favorite things to do on the ship
