Does anyone know if I can get a slice of that Dream Cake at Cafe Orleans?
Thanks!

what dream cake..tell me tell me.:goodvibes

I would like to know the answer too!

We had a slice of cake similar to that at Hooke's Pointe two years ago from the Candlelight Processional menu. Not sure if it is the same or even something they currently offered but you might check.

On a side note, I was very glad I had the cake, because I thought the food was horrible.

Not sure if you can get it at CO, but you can at Rancho and Plaza Inn at least, b/c that's where we have gotten it.

So get it, but set your excitement level at Really Low. It was NOT all that, and I've now had it twice (not sure why). There's only one layer of actual cake. The cake is OK. The frosting and the sort of moussey stuff all around it is fairly good, and I like the texture of the whipped cream (but the taste is almost nil). But the other layer is some sort of nougaty pseudo chocolate weirdness.

So get it, but don't expect much. Looks much prettier than it actually tastes.

Totally agree with this. On one of our past trips, we got this at the French Market. While my DS loved it (devours anything chocolate) the rest of us just found it OK and we were actually kind of bummed.

Actually, I was salivating over the cake picture, too, at first, but the more I look at it, the more I think it doesn't look so great. Disney can go terribly wrong with chocolate and cake - their cupcakes at Goofy's Kitchen are not good at all. The Mile High chocolate cake (served at the Golden Horseshoe) looks much better that the Dream cake.

And I have had that Matterhorn Sundae at Carnation and it is quite tasty, as is their apple pie a la mode.

Man!! And it looks sooo good! You know I have to try it. I am such a cake freak that I am going to have to try it. And Ill be bummed and you will be right, but I gotta give it a go.
Ill let you all know what I think...oh I dont want it to be bad!!

That matterhorn sundae looked yummy. I'm not really a sweets person, but I like ice cream once in awhile.

When I saw your post yesterday it was killing me because I knew I had seen and eaten that cake before, but I couldn't remember where! Then it suddenly hit me this morning, I had it at Carnation Cafe. I'll have to agree with PPs, it wasn't amazing, but it wasn't horrible either. I hope when you finally have a slice you enjoy it!

On some thread - and I don't think it is the dining thread, but could be wrong - there was a picture of a slice of the super-scrumptious looking Mile High Cake at the Golden Horseshoe. It is enough cake for at least two people. What I wonder is, is there any way to get that cake without making a reservation at the Golden Horseshoe? That is the cake I want, and I would probably scarf the whole thing down myself! I might pay the price later but I would enjoy it while it lasted.

To each their own, but I thought it was pretty darn good. But then again, if you smothered old shoe leather in chocolate, I would probably eat it.

Yes you can get Dream Cake at C.O. .
And I have to humbly disagree with most of the posters, and say, I LOVED THAT CAKE! I seriously could eat that cake every day. It wasnt too sweet, but the different layers of chocolaty ness I thought were perfect.
I loved how it was cool and no gritty frosting.
I have to say that it was exactly what I was hoping it would be.:lovestruc Yes Ladies and Gents, I love that cake.
p.s. if you are looking for a very sweet chocolate cake , this isnt it.:wizard:
Oh, and update on The Castle walk through. A CM told me that The Castle walk through will probably be opening around the same time as IASW for the Holidays. Just thought you would want to know.:wizard:

My ears perked up at the words "Dream Cake" but since I usually do not like chocolate cake anyway (not sure why Dream Cake peaked my interest--possibly because it is the last hour of work on a Tuesday :lmao:), I think I'll pass based on other reviews.

Thanks for the update on Sleeping Beauty's Castle Corpsebride. I used to love it (and fear it) as a wee one. I'm sad I'm missing it by a few months--just another reason to come back!
