Dream April 14,2011

Is that the price for Atlantis? I just went online and it has the room at $530 a night.

I only have three so the cost to Disney is $160 each...so getting that cheaper would be great!

How are you getting to Atlantis? Shuttle? I can't wait!

Jen , we booked it threw Comfort Inn on Atlantis property not Atlantis it self. Try that it is much cheaper.

New (at least for me) info on Atlantis from my friend who just visited it last weekend:
"Y -We purchased our wristbands at a kiosk right in the middle of the Atlantis Casino. Unfortunately the prices weren't displayed on the brochures there so you had to ask about each tour price but from what I recall here are the prices- Dig alone $35 adult, $25 child, The Dig& Beach day combo wristbands were about $60 per adult and $40 per child 12 and under and the AquaAdventure wristband passes were around $115 per adult and $80 kids 12 and under, this wristband gives access to everything the dig, beach, pools and water rides. These wristband purchases also include a voucher to eat lunch at one of several of the snackbars around the waterpark, pool and beach areas. With this voucher you get a soda or tea, large fries and basically a choice of a burger, hot dog, conch fritters, chicken sandwich or chicken nuggets with the wristbands purchased at Atlantis Kiosk. I had the conch fritters because I figured we were in the Bahamas while the boys all had cheeseburgers and they were quite large. The menu price of a burger is $9 so the voucher helped save on the lunch cost, also the sodas are refillable so we saved the cups for all day use. Towels are also freely available all over the place so no need to bring your own. The restrooms have no specific areas to be used as changing rooms but the restrooms are plentiful so still can be used for changing. The employee look at the color of your wristband most specifically on the rides to make sure it is an aquapark pass, the beach wristbands were gold while the aquapark passes were white the day we were there. It seemed that beach wristbands were overlooked if just using a pool but aquapark wristbands a must for the rides. ..... Anyhow, hope this helps in your planning!"
and then another one:
"Sure please share! Also check to see what your total amount is including all surcharges & taxes etc because sometimes they add up to more than you think. Also inquire as to how early you can "check in" and have use of wristbands so that you get the longest time possible. Maybe you should also see if their wristbands include lunch being that will probably run you at least $40."

Hope it is helpful! :goodvibes

BTW - this wonderful friend of mine is with us on this cruise (she just did not post here yet). :)

Those are the Atlantis Day passes, i have read they are first come first serve and also depend on hotel occupancy. You cannot buy them ahead of time. Since it is so close to Easter, I would be worried the hotel would be at higher capacity????

good point :thumbsup2 - i did not realize that they only sell limited amount of day passes; might be a good idea to call them if anyone is interested in purchasing them.
It was a SUNNY day today !!! :yay: more snow tomorrow :headache:

This is great:) However, I can't finish my ressie as Allison still doesn't have a passport..not sure why as she had one several years ago. Then they are asking for that info for Mia..she is 4..so, hopefully my TA can figure that out for me as she is the one who sent the link:) Only 67 days:)

Thanks for all of your advice, we went ahead and booked Discovery Cove for the day after we get back to Orlando.

AAA had it $150 cheaper....:cool1:

Now to print off my door magnets!

And, get everything ready for our door decorations! :cloud9:

FYI--

They have changed the online checkin since many of us did it(at least when I did it as repeat cruiser). Read this link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2651267
I guess they are trying to relieve some of the confusion at the port with the extra passengers.
Thank you for alerting us, Amy!
I got 10:30; I think a lot of people are still not aware of this change.
For those who don't have passports info: you can still complete you check in process. There is an option for "will bring photo ID", I am not sure where, but it was posted on other boards. You can change it later but at least will get your preferred boarding time now.

Discovery Cove is the best day spent ever! You will love and enjoy it!
I just wanted to let you know that we changed our reservations pre-cruise from Radissson to DoubleTree oceanfront at Cocoa beach. I saw a lot of negative reviews about Radisson's shuttle service and we decided we did not want to start our vacation on a "screaming at others" note :upsidedow
It's sunny in NY area! and some of the ice is melting :yay: we just need a few warm days like today but......more snow on Tue and Th :scared1:

For all of those that want to get onto the spreadsheet need to go to my FB page and request to be a friend and tell me which cruise. I will then add you to the group and you can do all the spreadsheet info you want.

The Yankee Swap is done the day we board the boat. We all meet at one of the lounges and we pull numbers to see a gift. You choose a gift. The next number can keep or exchange a gift that is already chosen. This goes on until the end.

It is fun. The Yankee Swap gift should be $10. This way everyone has a specific amount, and the gifts won't be cheesy. (Sorry for that word)

I am still trying to get counts on the Fish Extender participants, and if anyone is going to want to get shirts. I can just send the image to you if you want to print it out on your own.

Any questions.... Let me know.

Thanks, John! :thumbsup2

Could you please email me the image - i have iron transfers and it will be easier to make it by myself because I would know exactly what size t-shirts to use.

Hey Marilyn, how is the planning going? Are you going to any character meals at WDW? I can feel spring in the air, it won't be long now. :)

Yes, my plans are all shaping up:) I was able to snag my daughter and her husband a ressie for Palo so that is a good thing. While we are at WDW we will have dinner at CP, breakfast at Akershaus and Tusker House and for our last night we will dine at 1900 Park Fare with a surprise to end our wonderful week...A Wishes cruise:) While at Castaway Cay my husband, daughter Ali, son in law and older granddaughter will snorkel:) So, for that I am set:) I did have a awful thing happen, for whatever the reason, I lost all of my already print outs of invites, welcome letters, surprise things to do....but, I redid them all and so now, I am set with those too:) I also have all of my tip envelopes all filled as well as little spending money envelopes for everyone...I have started packing too...my older daughter has brought a suitcase out already to go...it's quite heavy, I think I want Tim to take it to the post office to see how much it weighs...How are your plans coming? It's getting warmer here, the sun is shining, but, yesterday it started out at 48 and by 8:30 last night it was 15:) Oh,well let it be cold now and once it starts to be warm, let it stay warm:) Fill me in on your plans...I am so excited...nervous, but excited...take care and I will see you soon....

Sounds like you are very organized!! The kids will love the character meals. I always enjoyed them too. :) I wish I had room to start packing. I do have a few things gathered in the corner. We are doing the sea lion encounter at Blue Lagoon on the first leg of our cruise and I am also signed up to parasail :scared1: Kim who I met here on disboards and her daughter who is turning 10 are going, so we are signed up with them. No special meals for me, although I am hoping Matti will go to the kids club for at least an hour so I can see the adult only parts of the ship. She is emailing Kim's daughter so it is looking good. :thumbsup2 I have two different rooms for the B2B but am looking at it as we will be able to explore different areas of the ship. We have the 9pm show, how bout you? I thought if you had it too maybe we could hook up one night. TTYL.

We have early show because of the kids...I think it will work out well...time will tell tho:) Hopefully your daughter will connect...like I offered before, shoot, I'll hang with her while you go and check out the adult areas..I mean that sincerely...

Thanks. I will take you up on that offer if she won't go to the clubs. :lovestruc yea, the early show probably does work best for your little ones. My kids LOVED the shows(and so did I). Can't believe we are soon going to be in the 40's for a countdown! I really wish I could start packing! I need to make some space somewhere.

I just went on to do the same but since i'm taking the disney bus from the airport to the boat, it wont let me pick an arrival time :( I'm really hoping to get to the ship early and have time to look around.

P.S. how do you get the counter at the bottom of your message?

Thanks,

J

dclay, there are tickers listed at the top of this page. Click on it, and then just follow the steps to make the ticker. You need to copy it and then paste it in the area of your signature...I don't know which one you need to copy, but, before you save it, preview it and if it's what you like then you can save your signature and then the ticker will be in the little box like mine:) Or, I think you can even click on my ticker and do the same thing..good luck, I hope this helps you:) Are you coming from the hotel at the airport or coming in on an early flight? I do know that it's about an hour drive, what deck are you on? How many of you are cruising? Maybe our paths will cross:) Let me know if you need better directions for your ticker:)
